My CD player stop working, anyone know why?

So im driving and all of my buttons except for the eject, and the one to switch tracks button stoped working like 2 days ago. couldnt do anything. now they all stoped working all together, but the CD still plays........... WTF? i have a SONY M630 or something to that sort. can anyone help me out? thanks in advance.

My guess would be the contacts between the face and the player itself are messed up somewhere. My girlfriend has the same problem on her pioneer cd player where she couldnt turn the volume down and I had to pull some prongs out
