This is going to be one hell of a event with these big pay outs !
Hopefully the weather up north cooperates and a lot of the big boys make it down to race.

They're trying to draw the same crowd as the World Street nats held in Orlando, might be too early in the season for most though. We'll see.. hope for a good turnout..

We've already heard from a few of the big dogs that they are planning on coming down for the show. Should be a good time.

Yes of course they are trying to draw the same crowd as Orlando but they are paying out a heck of a lot more money and the facility is 10x better than Orlando.
If the northern weather is not to bad at the time it will be a good time for people to get out and head south. From what I have heard it should be a good event, money talks you know. :D

I agree that Bradenton is a lot better track than Orlando, but the payouts are exactly the same. Check the link.

Only difference I see is the money Mickey Thompson is putting up as contingency at the Bradenton event.

In the 10.5 class (be gentle, im new) can you run 9.5 slicks?

don't see why not, the limit is 10.5 and no bigger, smaller isn't a problem..

I'm sure you'd be able to enter, but I'm not too sure how competitive you are going to be. Which class were you thinking about?

this race is very hardcore. the newbs should be discouraged to go as they probably wont meet safety standards. this type of heads up racing is just about a protype environment. i hope it attracts the big dogs. orlando is a shithole.

How "street" are these street cars? I'm curious about what kind of cars will be racing before going. What kind of stuff are we talking about?

they are full out race cars. i would expect mostly 9 second cars and much faster. in the outlaw class, no doubt 7 and 6 second cars if it mimics Orlando. drag radial will have a slew of 8 second cars as well.
I went to the Orlando event in October, it was so packed, you could hardly see both cars running.
For the guy asking what kind of cars are there. Here are a couple of shots from that event for reference:

They called the race early due to the track/weather conditions.

Yeah there was some weird sea fog that was rolling in as we were leaving, looked like the end of the world was coming.
