There will be 110-115 spots which is what I have done on every event in the past. I overbook because we always and I mean always have 10-20 that do not show and do not bother to let me know.
We have had 115 - 125 cars running at some of the past events and there was little to no line, I heard some people got in two dozen runs.
Sounds like a lot of cars but it isn't. The difference between a regular test and tune day and our events is the lack of Jr. Dragsters, lots of pro cars, lots of bikes, and tons of rice ! :D All of which take a long time to stage, do burnouts, etc.. Over the summer I saw car counts over 200 during test and tunes.
I expect we will have around 100 for this event which will mean little to no line like the last event.
The only time you ever see a line is when they stop the track for a breakdown or a clean-up.
Yes the pumps will be on and the snack bar will be open.

What exhaust? I've got the "open o2 housing special" and they've never kicked me off the track, if that's what you're asking .

You can get quite a few passes in. I've never seen lines more than 5-10 cars deep, and that's after the track cleanup. At the last event, there were large periods of no cars running. Not like the Sat. t&t I went to where I had to wait an hour to run...

Making our last attempt in the cool air for a 7 second pass. We narrowly missed it Dec. 11th with a 8.01 @ 161 so we are itching to break the barrier! :bbb: We'll be making a couple changes to assure a 7 second pass so we are expecting a 7.92 or better.
Thanks!

I forgot to ask about drive shaft loop and helmet rules. I know what the NHRA requires, but is this track strict? I don't have either of the two and with any luck, I'll be in the 12's. I honestly don't know what the car will run, will they at least let me get one pass?

It's basicly a test & tune, so first time runs are all good.

A helmet if you are running in the 12's or faster. They will be pretty easy on you as long as you are not doing anything stupid.

Not sure about there but in past at bradenton all you had to do is sign drivers waiver to get on staging area--I used to stage a pro-mod car and all of crew had to sign waiver.

Where exactly off of exit 220 is the track from I-75 in Bradenton?
Also, do you think I should try and run? I've currently got a Chrysler Cirrus 4 door sedan that's pushing about 170hp with a 2.5L V6. What kind of time do you think I'd be able to get on a 1/4 mile?

Added everyone up through here.
We are now COMPLETLEY FULL. :D
If you would like a chance to race I suggest going to the track to spectate (only $5) because if we have some people that do not show that are already on the list (and we always do) we will make a announcement over the PA system at the track that we have spots available and you will just pay the difference to run ($25).
Thanks

Thought it was 5-10pm, not 5-8:49pm ( which is when they closed the lanes )
Strokd85
01-09-2005, 01:00 AM
they closed the lanes due to how wet the track was getting due to the extreme humidity.. they did it for your saftey, be glad that they're looking out for you and not just letting people be stupid..

This is correct, they came to me at 8:30 after a civic swapped lanes going down the track and said the track was getting wet quick and that we were going to need to close it up early before someone stuffed it in the wall.
So I asked them to announce a 30 minute heads up over the PA system at 8:30 that we were making last call at 9:00 with lanes closing at 9:30. Ten minutes later some guy in a red Tran Am went completely sideways at almost the end of the track (about 1,000 ft out), missed the guard rail by inches, so the track manager stopped all runs at that point. The Trans Am was a daily driver and not a race car either.
It was done for safety, first time we have ever ended early but it was like a ice rink out there.
Hope everyone had a good time, the track was hooking well prior to 7:30 and the lanes were moving good.
Thanks again to Rev Xtreme for the sponsorship money to make it cheaper for eveyone.

I had fun too. This was my first track even here in Florida and with the new car. The track was hooking like mad. I couldn't do a burn out on my street tires it was grabbing to hard (stupid wheel hop IRS crap).
Anyways, look forward to the next one when I'll have some DR's.
Best time was 12.53 @ 116

From what I saw, I thought it was oil on the track ( and most the other people around me too ). That T/A was everywhere !!! From the way it lost control at around 80-90mph, I'd say that was oil or water from a blown-up car. But either way, the was hooking up great !!! It was the best trip to BMS I've ever made ( and I didn't even get to race !!! ), and I'm definately going to be there racing next chance I get !!
Thanx to Rev Xtreme for a great day at the track, with the coolest group of cars I've EVER seen.
I'd also like to thank all the 6sec 983Ci big block race cars with 500 shots of nitrous for not showing up, hehe.
My favorites were
#1 dodge omni
#2 buick powered Trans-am Pace car ( 11.1 !! )
#3 every SRT4 there !!
Scott
01-09-2005, 02:19 PM
It definitley was not oil or coolant. They stopped the track to check for it and the problem was the quickly rising humidity / dew point. Did you notice how all the cars had dew on them by 7:00 ?
And thanks for the compliments guys, it makes it all worth it.
