^^pics there^^

seems like i hit a patch of dirt while countersteering and i was going a bit too fast(45mph+), just lost control, ended up in the dirt, stuck.

at about 3:00am, after a long time with trying to get the car pulled onto the road with a truck, the tow truck arrived.

and now im broke again.

just an idea... but why would you post those pics on a site you have your car listed for sale on?

kinda makes it hard to say "hasnt been beat on"

i like it how people say they hit a patch of dirt.

man i tell you what. i saw people last weekend blowing tires in mid drift and not even spinning out. hell they went 2 more laps with out even noticing it and drifted the bank.
just say you got in over your head and messed up. thats all

ive only seen one person mess up from gravel, but even that was a bad judgement call.

I've been rather lucky when I have wrecked, I usually just lose it mid drift and slide gently off the road, but miraculously my car seems to have an impenitrable bubble around it lol. Hope it lasts long enough till I get my cage heh. That sucks man!!! Ahh well... all that's left do do is upgrade all your broken parts ^_^. I have slid off the road because of dirt on the road and not expecting the rear to go out as quick/far as it did when I hit the dirt/sand that was on the road. It all ends up being the same thing, but it's just inexperience vs more experience (ie, knowing how to coop with unexpected changes mid-drift).

Well, I did obviously mess up, and it wasnt the best idea drifting in a consturction site with dirt all around to begin with.

The reason I say I hit a patch of dirt is because as I was countersteering I spun violently seemingly out of nowhere, so I assume that's what happened, im not experienced so i didnt even think about what i should do to avoid what happened.

But I got a new tie rod in, and now i think im having an alignment problem. The steering seems to stick in regular driving after I make a turn.

For Example, if I make a right turn and let go of the wheel at the end of the turn, the wheel will stay turned to the right and will not return to the center position. Has anyone ever had this problem before? I am going to get it aligned in a few days and see if that was it.

Thats what I felt like, Ive messed up a few times before and just slid gently in the dirt, and I could always just drive out. Seems like my impenitrable bubble bursted.

you really should not drive a car you replaced a tie rod in until its aligned.. it is pretty much next to impossible to get it close enough.

Dont have much of a choice unfortunalty, gotta go to work/school.

Problem is i have to set up an appoitment to get my car aligned (I did so already) because the local tire places(tire kingdom, wal mart, etc.) said that they cant get my car on the rack becasue its too low :(

Kinda scary, this place that im going to is in the middle of nowhere and looks like a junkyard.

thats shitty, from the pics of your car it didnt seem very low.
i know ive managed to get way lower cars onto the rack, without breaking anything.. they just need some boards to drive up onto.

thats what I thought, I go into tire kindgom and say can you do an alignment on my car, it has aftermarket shocks/spring.

He says "Lowered?"

I respond yes.

he looks at my car through the window, says "Is it lowered now"

i say yes.

He replies, "uhh no we cant do that, wont make it on the rack"

kinda got the feeling that he was just being lazy.

id just go in, and say "i need an alignment" and not tell them the rest.. should work out fine.

Igor

Yea, I realized that would have worked after I left, but i dont want to give my car to some lazy guy at tire kingdom. He didnt look like he really wanted to do anything other than sit on his ass, and i dont want a half-ass job done.

Belive me, if you saw this guy, you would leave too

hahaha, if this was a year ago, it probably would have been me.

Igor

So you do think it is the alignment that is causing the steering problem, or could it potentially be something else?

paul kersey

sounds like you messed up the rack..
the alignment being really badly off certainly wont help anything. but usually if it doesnt return to "some" center, the rack is done.

Well when I put the sus back on my other car, it had a weird toe to it and it would turn back like an inch, went to fred cox and turned out good. Turns back fine. I would just go them if they say it cant make it on the rack(if they ask if its lowered) bring a couple 2x4s and show them how its done...
