Whatever it takes to get this thing to 60ft as fast as possible will be done. If that requires a 6,000rpm sidestep of the clutch, then it'll be done. :)

What size slicks are you looking for Steve? I've got a set of 28 X 10.5 M/T's mounted on a set of 4-lug 15 X 10 Bogarts. If you'd like to use them tonight, give me a shout at the shop and let me know. I'll bring them out to the track with me.

They usually carry it out a little past the lights, but the problem is there won't be any heat in the track. I ususally try to get a little further back in the line and let the other cars get some heat in there. They still don't prep it like BMP though.

Actually the Falcon Azena is a street tire and does come in your size. As much as you like to drag race I cannot believe you have not invested in an extra set of wheels and tires for the track.

Well, just got back from the track. Tires were grabbing hard, bogging me down right after the front end would lift up, but still managed a 1.83 60ft time. My buddies were telling me the front left tire was coming off the ground before it bogged down.
I ran an 8.1@86mph this time out on my first pass, the other 2 runs were 8.2s. Btw, that first pass I made I lined up with a c6 vette, wow, football field anyone? I could see his 2 little headlights back there as he ran an 8.9 to my 8.1.
I'm going to take care of my cooling system this week in the form of a radiator, waterpump, new 180 thermostat and an electric fan. Temp guage was bouncing all over the place anywhere from 160 to 230 on the way home, but I felt the radiator hose running from the thermostat to the radiator was maybe 120-130 degrees, I could easily hold my hand on there without it getting hot when the temp guage read 220.
Good run Brett, I was getting a little bit on you at the top of track, but not much. Don't let the roar of the 302 scare you into red lighting next time though. :)
Anyway, I'm going to step up to a 4.10 gear from my 3.73s and put a small shot on it (50 or so) within the next month or 2. So watch out for me to be pulling the wheels running 7.5> :)

Hey good night at the track guys and Congrats to typeR on that 8.6 tonight. Most impressive for a fwd luxury car on street tires. That thing has come along way since I first met you. Vince did give me my best run of the night with almost a photo finish. C'mon you know you were a little worried about the little 240 cause we both red lighted. However whatever you have done to the car is working cause I sure didn't expect that. 8.219 to a 8.23 is one close race. Traction looked to be a bit of a problem for most people it looked like. I couldn't get to a 1.7 60 ft for nothing. Even with 15lbs in the tires. I look forward to seeing you guys at track day. Should be a blast. I heard that PlanZ went 8.6 on street tires tonight also. Great job Ryan.

I saw you a couple of weeks ago when we got turned away from the track for rain, I was sitting just before the entrance to the track in the green Mustang. BTW, good looking car.

 I thought I was gonna win, the reason I redlighted is because my car was rolling foward and I got worried wondering wtf was going on. Apparently it was just the thrust from my exhaust pushing me foward.

Thanks John,
Right now it's just a stock SR20DET with 15lbs of boost and real good tuning. However I am in the process of putting my new mods together which should make it pretty nasty. I'm pretty happy with what it does for what it is.

I'd have to agree with the c-4 though.. it'd knock at least 1-2 tenths off of your times...
plus coming off of a transbrake is fun... :)

Well, it probably isn't that bad, but the 5spd in my car now is just perfect for what I'm doing. Daily driver/fun car. Usually it's tough to keep a good balance between daily driver and fun, but I'm still keeping mine under control.
Like I said, right when I have another car so I know I can have a car up when I need to go on the highway or if I ever break my 5.0 an auto with a 4,000+ stall is going in.
