well as some of you might know i won the Ter Tech event in miami on sunday. it was definitely some crazy shit. i had a blast and it was well worth the drive even if i didn't win. the course lay out was spot on and had 2 different coarses for advanced and novice drivers. the advanced drivers were using both the oval turns and only one person hit the wall all day and it was because the competition was so tight and everyone was pushing hard. but the damage was all superficial body damage i think and he was able to drive the car home.

I really want to say thanks to a few people for making this happen.

1st off is TER TECH, these guys were absolutely awesome!!! great event!! i had alot of fun. also like to thank Blake and Braile. for sponoring some of the prizes. and Chassis Engineering as well as Taka (who finished 3rd in advanced) and my brother. wish more of tampa would have gone, but the people down in miami are great and i'll go back if there is another event!!

read bill's first post a little bit more for comprehension and you will see that he said taka placed third in advanced. that's freaking awesome!!!

The Event was hot, and there was alot of good drivers. There was alot of track time for the drivers, I think my brother got like 8 or 9 runs and each run was 2 laps at about 2 minutes a piece. Couple SR's but mostly KA's. My brothers car did really well, so did the Integra. It was fun as hell and i hope TerTech sets up another event soon!!!

I have a decent amount of really good fotage of the event, but its on a REALLY old Sony video camera that only has RCA outputs for making VSH tapes, I dont have a way to transfer it to a compter, if anyone knows any tricks just let me know

thanks everyone!! believe me i had to work for it. there was alot of talent down there and it wasn't a walk in and win deal. i don't think i'd have won if the rwd integra hadn't broken down twice. but as we all know everthing happens for a reason. everytime i go down to miami i have a great time. the only thing that sucks is that long ass drive!!!

well as soon as i can i'll get some footage up, but i think i put down as much smoke if not more than the turbo cars! heehheheheheheheehhehe, my car performed flawlessly all day and had more than enough power to smoke at will!!! the 2 best cars of the day were both N/A KA's. stupid SR's heheheheheheh.

I was only doing good at oval part. I had a lot of angle and was going fast. Ther are so many better drifters, so I didn't expected to get 3rd place. I guess judges liked my drift style.

3-4 RB 240 came to the event(didn't drift) including 550HP?? yellow s13 hatch. I saw 3-4 AE86 GTS, turbo tercel, 2J GS. A lot of local fast cars. I'm glad I talked to bill and we decided to go to the event about 9pm Sat:)

Everyone please beg russian kid for the event footage. he got the most of video footage from the event. I'll upload pictures that he took later.

Bill tore shit up, was definitely a clear winner from what I saw....kicked the track's ass most every run...glad you made it down so I can see what KAs will do :)

Taka had the craziest entry to the oval turn near staging all day, super early initiation with insane speed and angle. Anthony nailed that turn a couple times (literally once :( ), Taka had it down all day though.

Juan threw down in a big way, he's getting good real quick....I think his first time drifting the oval was just a couple events ago...another uber stock KA driver.

Sean had some amazing runs throughout the day, but his consistency was off. Really damn good when you throw in the variables of being awake for like 32 hours straight by the end of the event (along with the Ter-Tech guys), driving a borrowed car that could really use shocks, and also driving from the "other" side of the car.

You Tampa bastards need to start showing up to these Ter-Tech deals.....$40 to drift from 8am until after dark (competition event lasted from 10am until 9pm with a huge lull during lunch). I can't wait for their next comp, I think I've figured out what I need change for next time.

Thanks John, I really wish I would have slept the night before now.

And yea, you Tampa ppl need to come down if you want some cheap drifting that kicks DGT in the balls for seat time.

im working on it! we need to get both cars together first! do they allow tandem?

i promise, ill be at the next one

hachibill
12-08-2004, 08:08 AM
yeah they wanted me to do tandem with Juan, but i was sceptical cause of the drive home and all, maybe next time. hopefully be boosted by then.
