what is needed to get a q45 diff in an s14?
I dont think Q45s are R200 diffs.
I read somewhere that they won't fit due to the length of the diff and gearing will slow down crusing speeds more than a J30 diff will.

Most Q45's if not ALL have an R230 not an R200 so they have a 230mm ring gear and are considerably larger overall than an R200. The bolts on the back have a different spacing and the diff snout length is different as far as I know.
Basically it won't fit.
Any reason for wanting one? The stock R200 can handle sick power and is much lighter than an R230. You can get gears anywhere from I think 3.6 to like 4.88 too.

You can get an r200 from a 74 260z 2+2 4spd. It's a 3.36 (I think, I know its 3.3 though).
