My cd player I just installed, Alpine 9827, plays the cds but no sound comes out. My sub is hitting so the cd is going but the componets aren't working. They work with the regular radio though. Is this a connection problem, cd player setting? Please help!

Sounds like your head unit crapped out to me, cuz its definitely not a cd player setting. And if you got it on ebay or dont have a warranty from wherever you got it, get an amp for your components because they need one anyway (assuming theyre aftermarket?). This should work assuming what you say is correct, that the preouts work no matter what the source of music is.

reset the radio (or unplug it and plug it back in). if it still dont work, its the unit

Alright, I'm swinging for the fences...

If you had the subs hooked up to, lets say your factory radio, and the sub amp remote was wired to the ignition, and when you wired the alpine, you correctly wired the antenna remote, but unbeknownst to you, there is a factory amp triggered off of the antenna remote, therefore only turning on with the tuner!

Yeah, try swapping the blue/ white with the blue.

I guess thats possible, I had assumed since he said components and that he has an amp/sub, that he had replaced the speakers also since that makes the most sense. But Outatime what kind of car is it, do you have aftermarket or factory speakers, did the factory system have an amp?

97 Jetta, it has a factory bose with factory amp. When I get some time i'll try the wire thing maybe it is hooked up wrong.

Then what xFactor said is very possible...most Bose amps have 8 inputs and 8 outputs for the speakers, you should definitely bypass the Bose amp and get some speakers which you should run preferably off an aftermarket amp, or the 9827

Sounds like your factory amp is hooked up to your power antenna lead.

If I swap the white/blue with blue then what am I going to wire the remote wire to for the amp to my sub?

Leave your remote turn on for your amp the way it is...it's working right?

I'm confused, lol, sorry but yeah my amp to my sub is on and the componets work with the regular radio so they are hooked up okay just when I switch it to cd player the sub hits(still power from that amp) jus that the components don't.
