Coming soon to a sealed asphalt lot near you...
Course design in the next post.
You can pre-register and pay via PayPal on MyAutoEvents.com. (http://www.myautoevents.com/pls/mae/frmEventDetail.Show?psevent_id=2333)(PayPal link will be sent via email after you register)
At our last event we allowed 70 entries, 10 over our 60-car limit. The downside of that was that it required us to cut our number of runs down more than we like. We're all about trying to get in lots of runs. So, the 60-car limit WILL be adhered to. Good idea to pre-register or show up early to register to be sure you get in!
The usual BS questions answered here:
Location is SPC Allstate campus in St. Pete. 3500 32nd St. S will pinpoint it on Mapquest.
Setup starts around 7ish. Help is welcome.
Registration 8:30-9:30ish. Be early, we have an entry limit.
Entry Fees: $25 members - $30 non-members (must be a licensed driver, minors must have a parent sign the waiver)
Lunch is provided (probably Vietnamese this time) around 12:30.
We should be done between 3pm and 5pm depending on how many people show up.
Loaner helmets are available, but in limited supply. Bring one if you have it.
I'm always happy to answer any UNusual BS questions, though you may find answers on the SunRiders Autocross (http://www.sunridersautocross.com) website.

registered.
i'm a fan of the saturday autox, since i have to work sundays.
loren, i checked out the sunriders site, and noticed a friday night autox. i've done five or six meets and ran at least 20 runs at deal's gap (several at night) without killing myself. if i pay for an annual membership, can i get in on the night autox?

Yes, 11/20 is one of our "open" autocrosses, anyone can enter. Just be aware of the entry limit. Either pre-register or show up early and take your chances.
Mario, I don't think changing your handle is available in the user options. PM me with what you want to change it to, I can probably get someone to do it.
Leonard

Mario: PM John. He's one of the admins and has the ability to do it.
As of 8:30 tonight, I have 5 lug wheels with victoracers on the Cobra.
Fun times to come..... 275's in back and it still feels like it's on ice.

Sure, I'm always up for entertainment!
That suspension was worn completely out last time. If you've tightened up the rear and not the front, it will probably oversteer pretty wildly. You need to get the front done!

OK registered :)

yeah front is pretty bad but the rear end isnt so snap back happy as it was before alot more controllable plus i have 9 levels of adjustment on the rears so we will see oh and i didnt touch the tire pressure last time this time i will it should make a big different. and like i said if i get super lucky i should have some coilovers by then also with 450 lb/ft springs on th front :D but we will see i should still run much faster times with a tire pressure adjustment and the rear stuff i did. i guess ill find out :)

Tires. Don't forget the tires. You can't improve your suspension enough to make up for riding on old rock-hard tires.

there all rairly new they are just a hard compund. not enough for auto x tires yet :(
Leonard

you aren't ready for r compounds as a driver yet anyway.
Loren

Yeah??? Try calling up a tire shop to get a price on tires when they can't look anything up without plugging in the type of car. So, you tell them an 89 mustang and then they tell you they won't fit...

how tight is the cource? is it set for 1st gear and some 2nd gear like 2 years ago?
Loren
11-16-2004, 07:08 AM
Course map is at the beginning of this thread. You never know for sure until you set it up and drive it. This one looks like it will see a fair amount of 2nd gear, though it won't be super-fast. It's got some neat transition elements in it that we haven't seen in a while.

Hey Loren,
How do you guys define race tire vs non-race tire?
Now that I'm running the AP car, real race tires are open to me, so I'm questioning whether any DOT race itre is a race tire.
Oh, and since this would be my 3rd sunriders event, can I run novice ;)

We use the STS definition of a street tire.
You drive like a novice. :D But... no.
