this is a good ass idea, im assuming that the stratus swaps are kinda similar, but ive heard of one dude doing a swap of that nature... i doubt anything short of the typical honda swap would be involved... i mean some wiring, harness work, ecu and maybe special axles and some odd motor mounts... call modern performance or whatever, they might know more about it than any response you'll get here ;)
good luck to ya, that sucker should be cool as fuck :D

After its done wanna trade for the Wrx or Supra? :-D
My buddy was thinking about swapping a h22 in a eg and it would cost around 5k,i was like swapping a srt-4 motor in a O.G neon should be the same price maybe a little more...plus it'll be a hell of alot faster :-)

their is a diffrence, you must run a stand alone, the tranny mounts up different, but every thing else is much the same

But you can bolt up to a better tranny than what the 1st gen neons use and you don't have to buy internals to run nice boost levels.

the crank sensor on a srt is different and will not work on 1st gen. computer.

umm sorry i knoiw a little about neons im into them and work on them. sorry i didnt buy one already fast, if you knew anything about them you would know that a 2.4 swap is the most common swap for a 1st gen neon.(2.4=same as srt but not factory built) and yah modification is needed it wont bolt into place, but if your as smart as you think you would know they sell kits so a 2.4 will bolt right in.and i would hope your not dumb enough to try to use a stock tranny on a 2.4, so being able to put a better one is required. its a giving installing an srt motor would be better because then you dont half to built it up seeing its already meant for turbo boost, have you ever seen stock neon axels they will snap easy if you put alot of power to them and why dont you just put the srt computer and wire harness in?so why am i a retard because i knew what i was talking about? haha screw you dumbass

you are wrong and dont know what you talking about. and early 2.4 and a srt 2.4 are not the same. an srt is a much more involed swap. no you cant use a srt computer in a 1st gen. you have to use the engine and dash harness, becouse of the theft features. and no one has been able to get one to run on a srt computer. they all have used stand alones becouse you cant get past the theft crap on it.
a 2.4 tranny is the same basic tranny as a 2.0 tranny neither one is stronger. an srt tranny is a diffrent story its out of a euro van. it is alot stronger and bigger than any other 2.4 tranny.
and on the axels he was asking which ones to use not which ones were stronger.
neondriver, watch it. You can get your point across without being a dickwad, and you stop egging him skittle.
Only person making sense in here is figment.

+1,ill stop getting carried away, but yea...the 2.4 motor(neondriver reference) and the srt-4 motor are not the same....the ecu wont work(read above)...but thanks for the help this is coming soon :-D
btw,
I *think* I saw the price for the complete wiring harness, and its not a bad price at all. You dont have to run standalone. If there is space and time, then you can wire up the whole biatch....
and I can get around the 'security' thing.
Used srts, should be dime a dozen now....arent they?
The few guys I heard of who have done the swap use standalone because they are high HP and need the flexibility and tunability.

Thats what we're aiming for,he wants 350+whp...so the stock ecu and shit will be thrown out....
