Supposedly it is because the M/T's are in limited supply and it is unfair not everyone can get them. We shall see.

They sure didn't seem to be in limited supply at Orlando. Florida Performance Warehouse was selling the shit out of them at their trailer this weekend to all the Drag Radial racers. Just about every one I saw was having their BFG's dismounted and a set of the M/T's put on.

I believe it might have more to do with pressure from the other manufacturers.

Do they allow BFG's? If so, then it's bullshit. MT came out with a superior product, instead of banning them, everyone else needs to step it up, that's progress.

I'm not sure. I know the radial class that ran at osw are suposed to be sponsored by BFG yet they allow the MT's and even someone I know who has BFG as a big sponsor is running MT's and BFG said it was ok.

I am sure some of it has to do with outside pressure but from what I heard from a few guys I know that were running is just about every tire MT had for sale was at that race thus leaving little to no supply to the rest of the market. MT delayed the release of the tire quite a few times because of material issues from what I read prior to last weekend.

But who really knows for sure, it will be fun to see what transpires through the off season and how much preesure NMRA and the others get to allow the tire.

I just got my new set of MT drag radials and will be running them at the track event on Saturday. I was previously running BFG's so I will be excited the difference between these tires.

Launch

Ordered them last Friday and they were here on Monday. Ed over at Gearhead said he is going to start stocking some of these tires.

Lets put it this way, out of all the radial tire cars I saw at osw for the wsf there was only one person that was running BFGs. EVERYONE else was running MT's.

Don't feel too bad I got about the same out of mine and I do not street race. It was from driving to and from the track and around town a little. As soft as the new MT's are I would not expect much more and probably less.

I will find out soon enough. I'm trying to get a bigger rim so i can run 275/50/15's.

The MT's are running 7.66s right now, so if you don't get traction, it's your setup/suspension, not the tire.

alot of people at sunshine for the heads up madness where having a hard time hooking with the m/t,but the are fair better then the bfg's,corky couldn't even get the 55 to hook that night and he was on the m/t's he ended up getting some slicks off a guy to use.but it is bullshit that nmra is doing that i think everyone else should step up and make a better tire.
what the problem was with the m/t when the first came out was that people where getting bad tire shake with them it was something to do with the rubber, people where saying they would get them balanced and go to the track and around 100mph they would shake bad and no one wanted to go over 120 with them on because it just got worse with more speed
thats what i was reading on the drag radial message board.

I've had my M.T. Drag Radials for 4 months. I got them from Summit. The problem they had with manufacturing was not having enough of certain sizes. Some people got lucky and I was one of them. There are some pictures of them in my living room on 1 of my other posts called "twins anyone" in the Ford tech area if you guys want to look at them. I can tell you that you can literally peel the rubber off with your hand with these tires and their treadware rating is 0. They don't last long at all!!!! But they have hooked great for me !!!!:)
