cranking up the torsion bars will level it but it puts alot fo stress on the bars and u run a greater risk of breaking them. but i have a freind that cranked his torsion bars on his 97 f-150 like 2 years ago and he has had no problems.

yep...thats it crank them but.....jack the front end up to take the stree off the suspension. My 03 is cranked, it rides stiff (not sure if that is the the rancos on the FX4 or what) but thats it.

probably the ranchos help a little on the stiffness, i wanted an fx4 but man they are hard to find in white..............
so i ended up with a 4door lariat fully loaded 4x4 instead, but i am happy.
i wanna get some 33s on her soon, i am dying to hook her up

hey make leveling springs for the front.

errr....leveling springs only work on the 04s, not the 03s and before. They use bars. Yeah I'd have liked white but got black instead.

See I was goign to do it but I ratehr spend the extra $ instead of breaking something. I am trying to find leveling springs for mine right now that won't cost me an arm and a leg.

There are NO SPRINGS on a 97 to 03 4wd F150, sorry, if you believe there are you are wrong. Cranking the bars only causes a change in CV angle if you keep it within specs (see FSM) you will be fine. Secondly a leveling kit (spacers for you 04s) are dirt cheap and work fine, jeep owners have been using them for years in much more stressful situations then the F150 will be placed in.

No need for spacers, not a fan of it. I will just change the front springs like I did on my Ranger or go with different shackles. And you can change the springs on the front of a heritage F150 to get some bit of a lift. We did it to my mom's bf's 03 so his tires would not rub anymore, basically added the 4x4 front coil springs versus the 4x2.

yeah which is basically what i was saying, i have torsion bars, and thats the cheapest way for me to go with right now.
i plan on just using a body lift on it in a bout a month or so.
i really just wanna clear 33x12.5x15s for now.

I'd love to see these springs on a 4x4 f150, any chance I can see it??? THEY DO NOT EXSIST. 4wds use bars to level and support the front end.
33s should clear, i have 32" tires on my truck (well 31.8 to be exact). These are STOCK tires. Again this is a 4 wheel drive so 2wd truck may not fit these tires.

i have a 87 nissan pickup and i tightened up the torsion bars all the way it doesent do any thing but raise it about 2 inches and thats all i needed . sure it might ride a little more tight but who cares. IT LOOKS BETTER. You can get away with it, you really dont need to get it alligned either i didnt and it drove just straight.

You dont want to crank the torsion bars up, The realignment can be very costly because they may need some extra parts to get it aligned, it may end up costing you a few hundred dollers, I talked to ford about it before, Its not worth it, just save up and get a kit, A good one can go for about 250-600.
