I have alwayys been an mb quart guy. had my "Q"s for a couple years now. the one problem i've always had with MB Quart is that they just don't have any midbass.
Bring on the recomendations for high quality speakers with good mid bass.

Look into some home audio mids to run with your Q series tweeters and x-overs. Home audio is far ahead in the game and few, if any, car audio speakers will match them. A friend of mine is running a pair of Seas Lotus home audio mids, they're very impressive.

thanks
why don't you just get some 6 or 8 inch drivers for the mid-bass? Then run a nice set of highs.

He's got a nice set of highs. The Q series is top of the line.

I've been hearing good things about the new Kicker SS line. I haven't had a chance to listen to them yet but everyone who has loves them. The problem is that they aren't cheap. $800 retail.
90 percent install and 10 percent product sometimes.. and where were they auditioned to eveyrone else? I try not to even listen to what people say abotu speakers, becuase if I think they MUST sound good, they probably will when auditioned..

I would never pay $800 for Kicker.

Dont knock it untill you hear it. I have never been a fan of Kicker mids and highs. Too harsh sounding for my taste. However it seems they got it right with the SS line. Besides, not all of us pay retail.;)
but you havent heard them yet... how do you know they got it right

"It seems" ;)
I have heard positive things from several people. Don't worry going to hear them Wed. or Thurs. this week.

Even if they sounded incredible, I still wouldn't spend $800 on Kicker.

CL-61? Yup. You get what you pay for. They have a bit of a rep of lacking midbass and I think they live up to it, sound fine other than that. That whole 90/10 install thing is probably at work here too.
