Hey Guys,
I am in need of your opinions on some stuff. I am looking for a good, capable truck (go figure). I do a lot of surfing, so I want an SUV....something I can throw boards on top of and have a lot of room inside. I've been looking at Land Rover Discoveries....but have heard they have a good deal of problems. I want something 4x4 as I will probably be driving in sand at some point. I also don't want a particularly problematic line of vehicle. Any help greatly appreciated.

toyota 4 runner 4x4
chevy blazer 4x4 (my 2 door has an ample amount of room for me)
pathfinder 4x4
explorer 4x4

Id prolly pic the 4 runner, older body style.. easy lift, and dated interior..wouldnt bother me messing it up

Well, the land rover is good, after 2004 it came with a CDL, ML series mercedes are about second in that price range for off road ability. There is the land crusier etc. Two of my friends have Discos, one a Series I one a series II. Neither have had any problems, it's really hit and miss and quality has gone up since BMW and now ford own them. If you want a cheap awsome off roader, Jeep Grand Cherokee is the way to go, overlander sports quadra drive, 1" lift kit, full skids, gerator diffs, HO 4.7L V-8 and a slew of performance parts.
