I'm new to the component systems. i'm lookin at goin from 2 12" subs to components for my door speakers. I'm outta the window rattling bass deal. I'm lookin for sound quality and i believe that's what the components are for. I also want a little bit of bass cuz my stock system is really weak. (got a 45 X 4 watt pioneer head unit though). I'm asking should i get components for just the front (6 1/2") and coax for the rear and it should sound nice? do i need an amp to power the speakers or is the head unit enough? Should i also get rear components (6 X 9") because they are harder to find?

If you get components, I'd recomend an amp for your speakers. And if you get the 6x9's just get normal 2 or 3 ways they'll still give you decent bass with an amp hooked up to em. But if your downgrading from 2 12"s to that, you should also get something like an amp/bass tube. It'll really fill out your sound and you won't find yourself missing your subs. Trust me I work at circuit city doin this.

I reccoemend and amp on any aftermarket speakers. And if youre going form 2 12's to nothing you are gonna sit there and miss it. You arent gonna get anywhere near teh same output from 6x9's.
