SLAP (Sound, Looks, and Performance) show will be at Sound Advice on Dale Mabry and Columbus this Sunday, August 22nd.

Registration is from 9am to noon, judging starts at 10am. There are basically 3 categories you can enter: Show & Shine, SPL, and SQ (quality & install). Registration fee is $30 cash, save $10 by entering 2 competions and save $20 by entering all 3. If you enter the SPL competition, it includes two passes...each additional is $10.

I believe the winners will recieve plaques, Sound Advice gift certificates, and points in the SLAP circuit. Expected turn out is 100+ competitors. And the show will be split up into mild & wild type categories so you're not competing against some sponsored vehicle with $50k into it.

So tell all your friends, and don't hesitate to register. Otherwise, atleast stop by to check out the cars for awhile. There should be some vendors there, it's sponsored by Polk and Alpine...I also know that Sirius will be there. And I think "The Beat" will be there as well. Should be a pretty cool event.

i'll be there no doubt, im kinda nervous about entering my car into the sq comp but its only $30 so what the hell maybe i'll learn something ;) look forward to seeing some other tamparacing peeps out there

I'd say it's about average for the caliber of show. It' not exactly some back yard get together. It's a circuit, so you've got people entering who are trying to rack up points and make it to nationals. The SoundAdvice gift certificates are for a couple hundred bucks...so it's not too bad.

you should enter anyways curtis.. they normally have seperate classes, so you might not be number 1, but a 3rd place trophy in the single sub or 1000 watt category... is still a trophy

the alpine focuz suckd i didnt like it at all the amps were a 1000 a peice and the subs were 450 all that money and it wasnt even that good...................... the corvett was a pure show car lookd clean except for the purple carpet and the guy who won what subs were in there i see all fosgate amps so im thinking fosgate subs but witch 1s?
