My Z sucks at teh drift.... I wish to make it slightly better at this.
I went out last night in the wet, and it was nearly impossible to get a good controlled slide. The rear just doesnt want to kick out. MATTBACK - help. :)

ps - I also damaged the sidewall on one of the tires attempting to slide. I found out that dirt makes for a much easier learning area to slide around in.

You need some better front tires first. And I find it really hard for your not wanting to kick out? Did you try a clutch kit or ebrake style?

Better front tires? Pardon the ignorance, but why?

the more grip you have in the front the easier the back end will want to break loose and not the front. do you have a lsd? and it doesn't help you have the worst rear suspension ever invented. its completely unpredictable and unstable. i know because my brothers celica has semi-trailing arm rear suspension same as your car. my advise would be to buy another car.

No LSD. Shitty front and rear tires, but neither slides well.
I derno. Can't I get an LSD, and some shocks/springs? Would that help out?

yeah, just get a set of good stickey tires for the front and a lsd. stiffer springs and shocks will help too. start there and you'll see a big difference. with a car that old also make sure your tie rods and balljoints aren't loose, that will add to the loosness of the front end which you don't want. BUSHINGS, get them and be happy.

Ground cotnrol makes some coilovers for your car
get them. It will cost ~ 1000 for front and rear, and for tokico illuminas / koni's at all four corners ,but if you get 550 front 450 lb rear for the spring rate, you will have a very good suspension setup.
dont' forget a 2 way diff.
that will make the z predictable and competitive.

Funny. I found some GC's and had included them and the illuminas in the restore setup.
Thanks Matt.

You need some tires that aren't all dry-rotted to hell. That was my first observation while looking at your car.

Dry rot doesnt help while drifting?! No wonder my rear tire is flat! :X

the z is not a good drift car lol. i had a 88z and ummmmm it dosnt like to stay sideways for to long lol.
im thinking about geting a toyota pickup and a supra rearend see what i can do. but that might just be as bad as the z not waning to stay side ways
