One more time!
Course map has been posted in this thread. (scroll down!)
You can pre-register and pay via PayPal on MyAutoEvents.com (http://www.myautoevents.com/pls/mae/frmEventDetail.Show?psevent_id=2108).
The usual BS questions answered here:
Location is SPC Allstate campus in St. Pete. 3500 32nd St. S will pinpoint it on Mapquest.
Setup starts around 7ish. Help is welcome.
Registration 8:30-9:30ish. Be early, we have an entry limit.
Entry Fees: $25 members - $30 non-members (must be a licensed driver, minors must have a parent sign the waiver)
Lunch is provided (probably Pizza) around 12:30.
We should be done between 2pm and 4pm depending on how many people show up.
Loaner helmets are available, but in limited supply. Bring one if you have it.
I'm always happy to answer any UNusual BS questions, though you may find answers on the SunRiders Autocross (http://www.sunridersautocross.com) website.

Next one is scheduled for October, I believe. We were supposed to have a track event in September. By the time that got cancelled, SPC was already booked for all remaining weekends.

Bring it, Bill. Be sure to put a big ol' "For Sale" sign on it. Who knows, you might find a buyer right there?

Nobody stepped up to co-chair with Mark. (hint, hint) So, he's got a lot to do in preparing for this event. I'm pretty sure he's going to reuse a course from either earlier this year, or late last year, but I'm not sure which one. Something worth revisiting, I'm sure!

that was a fast, fun course. too bad i gotta work.
4wdFury
08-17-2004, 03:19 PM
ya I remember that course, pretty fast indeed. Don't remember if I had my car with me at the time or not. oh well, gotta look up the weather for sunday see if I shoudl rock the azenises or the toyos
That was the one my car was running so bad that I ended up teaching at. But I rember doing one run in andrews car, and pulling a fairly fast tiem, considering it was the first time behind the wheel of that car at an autoX.

the pretzel course returns
I think I'm gonna be out of town this weekend though :(

That was the last course I ran in the s10. I might just have to come out and see how much faster the ss is compared to the extreme on the auto-x.

I think the universe is conspiring to keep me from autoxing...
The 22nd is my girlfriend's birthday and my company is moving to a new office the weekend of the Brooksville event, so i'll probably have to miss that one, too.
Maybe if i come early and help set up, and run in the first run group i could leave in time for her family birfday bash...

Bad mojo to mess with the GF's birthday. ;) But if you're there early and help set up, you could be done by noonish. Clear it with the event chairman, of course, so he knows what's going on.

hmm, wonder what the chances of rain are for sunday? Makes me wonder if putting my azenises back on was a bad idea.

Rain, please - and hard. It's the only chance I have of running decent times (by comparison).

Yeah, I have been for a while. I have some dead Hoosiers mounted but they're all close to cords and I want them to last through some runs at Brooksville (blow-out @75MPH=excursion through field, at best).
I'll be on the, very, unimpressive Michelin Pilot Sports. They suck with the exception of standing water and then they're great . I wish I had bought Bridgestone Potenza S03's. Falken & Kuhmo don't like my sizes apparently.
The pretzel looks like a good Lightning drifter course...
Any Miata's need a co-driver? Maybe a 10AE with MX's? :bounce:

oversteer, i have 3 225/45/17 SO3's with your name on 'em...
fury, azenis work great in the water plus you got AWD :D

Azenises are decent in rain, not as good as my proxes. Though they're on, so I am not changing them.

It looks like I missed the deadline for registration. :( I just got my car back tonight and there's a chance I might make it Sunday. Can I still sign up? Not too familiar with the pre-register system.
Thanks!

Jamal, there were only 17 on-line entries. It says 60 is the cut-off. Maybe this info will help:

Guys, Pre-Registration is NOT REQUIRED. Nobody ever said that it was, and I have on more than one occasion clarified that it ISN'T.
At this point in time, SunRiders pre-reg is just a convenience. Saves you and the registrar some time at registration and allows you to pay via PayPal if you choose to. That is all. It's not required. You can show up at the event and register just like always if you want to.
If/when pre-registration becomes a requirement, we'll let you know.

Me too! :D I haven't really pushed it much on the drive back from Miami, but it does feel stronger!
Foot is getting better, pins are out so I can wear regular shoes again!
Loren, thaks for the clarification, I was worried about showing up and not being able to run.
Hope to see you guys there!

See you tomorrow, rain or shine!

Broke my left big toe! Couldn't really use a clutch for a while.
Sorry I missed it, got a lot of stuff to do... hope you all had fun!

I hope there's a really good story to go with breaking your big toe! I feel for you, brother. Glad to hear you're back in action. You missed a good event, lots of good competition for you. A couple S2000's on Hoosiers, lots of forced induction cars, and a surprising number of BMW's. (even a Mercedes wagon!)
