Yeah man I want to spend at the most $1399 on a system. I want to MTX subs and some pioneer 6by9s. I do not know shit about systems, but I have heard the MTX at the comps and it is what I need. I want ot push a constant wattage of about 200 through each sub. What kind of amp would I need? I need a 2 channel amp I know, but I could be wrong. What is the basic time and price involved in getting this put in when I go to an audio shop? In the past I would buy an exhaust over a speaker, so I never got to touch on the audio part of tuning. Thanks for the help.

What would be the best setup to get some good bump in the trunk with limited funds of $1200?

You can do SO MUCH for that amount of money. What exactly do you want and does it all have to be MTX?

Yeah man I prefer MTX. I have heard them as well as JBL, Pioneer, Xplod, Fosgates, and Visoniks. Just something about them. I do not know the first thing about audio setups. I just know I am willing to spend quite a bit to get one. I do not want to go to an audio shop and tell them I don't know what I want. All I need is a good recomended 2-channel amp and 2 MTX 12" subs. I would only need a 2 channel amp right? This is what I mean. I just want some deep bass to shake shit up. The 6by9s will be powered enough to sound good off of the cd player right? I have been spending so much time on engine stuff that I have not been able to learn much about audio.

well i say learn as much as you can first and do it right the first time. I bet all the other guys will say the same thing as most of us started out with a shitty system and ended spending more money down the line. Since you are starting out with a good chunch of change for your first system you could get a really good system. If your interested in MTX they have there 9500 subs that are spose to get loud and sound nice. There alittle more power than you were asking for, about 1000 watts.... If you think thats gonna be to much maybe a couple of MTX 8500's. If you got the dual 4 ohm 9500 you could match it with the MTX1501d. That amp and sub would be about 750-800 off ebay. Wire kit like jesse said 36 bucs. A box from a shop would prolly be like 100-150 for a good ported box just off the top of my head. If you feel like doing more research you could save alot by making your own box for like 20 bucs.

Thanks for the info Derek. I would probally go with the 8500s. What is a good combination I could buy for a setup? What I mean is if I get the 9500s, what amp would I need to power both of them, and same if I get the 8500s. Would I need another small amp for the speakers in my doors, or will they be alright runing off of the 25w that the deck produces? I will probally just get a wood box now, then when I can actually afford a nice stainless and plexiglass box I will get one. (BestBuy for $500) Are there any more parts I would need besides wires? How long would it take an audio shop to put the system in?

do it yourself, audio shops charge a fortune.. if your geting subs that powerfull your not going to get a good sound off the 25 watts the head unit puts out, not only is it low power, but it trys to push teh same bass out of your little speakers as your subs

The 9500's are massive subs. 2 of them and you will be hittin REAL hard. I say the setup you get depends on the car u get. Systems are always louder in SUVS plus you have a lot more room. With the kind of money you have, if you got 1 15" 9500 in a jackhammer MTX box(not sure if thats the exact name) You will be hitting REAL loud.

What other MTX subs would sound good? I don't need to go deaf, but I definately need the bass to be felt. Gotta have something to hit hard, but I do not know a good amp and sub combination. Any ideas?

Im not to familiar with MTX so I cant help a great deal with that. About 3 months ago I was system shopping with other brands besides MTX and I know a lot about them. As far as MTX goes Ill do some homework for you and get back to you. What kind of car are you putting this in? What kinda box? Sealed or ported?

I plan on putting it into an Integra GSR. I want a ported box as of now. And I have been thinking.... I don't really need MTX. I just want something nice. Not something bottom-end. I would really appreciate if you could help me out with this. I just need to know a good combo for a system.
