Well I have been out of the loop for a while due to personal reasons. I pulled out of work on Tuesday night onto US highway 19 and Spun the car around and hit a 75 year old man in an Explorer. Totaled his car and 8600.00 in damge to mine. Could this suck any more? Dimmit is going to have my car for 2 weeks. Does anyone know how the loss in value insurance works?

How exactly did you spin out? Going to fast on a wet street? Blown tire? What happened?

Stall Convertors and the rain do not mix. I pulled out normal. Got a little spin and like a dumb-ass----- Over Corrected the vehicle. Oh, and I got a ticket for right of way.

Yep.
That would fall under the headding of too fast for conditions. I have a TCI Streetfighter in mine and I have a problem with it breaking loose on wet streets some times. Live and learn kid.

Dont count on 2 weeks man. I had MINOR ($3200) damage to my 92 and the dealer kept it for 3 months :(

Sucks to have so many things go wrong at once. I have heard that bad things come in 3's so hopefully its the end of your problems for a while.

This sounds very similar when i wrecked my mom's 97 z28 and we took it to maher. HORROR STORY resulted from their massacre of this car. Fuck Maher, they said it would take 2 weeks and 9k in damage, but what he really meant was 7 months and 12k in damage.

Zac this sucks!
They will total the car at between 70 and 80% of car value. You can find this in nada.com or kelly blue book. Dif Co's do it slightly different!

im with vince, never take a car to maher for insurance work, or any work period...luckily i had taken pix of the car while at maher and after 5 weeks for them to replace the bumper and tail lights the centercaps were missing from my rims, cd's were gone, faceplate was missing and obvious signs of someone trying to remove the cdplayer. they reimbursed me for everything but still pisses me off how shady that place is and id be up the creek without a paddle without those pix.

Thank you everyone. Fortunatley the insurance company is covering most of it but the aftermarket stuff is costing an arm and a leg. I have maxxed out the credit cards man. It sucks. The cam will have to wait a little longer.
