all my speakers are wired to a 4-channel kenwood, so my mids and highs are excellent. also i got a rather small 2-channel alpine amp, maybe 200-250W that i want to use for subs. im not a big bass guy, i like a balanced system, so i dont want overpowering bass. i was thinking if i wire two 12s (too big, i know, but no other option cuz i already have 2 12s for use) to the small 2-channel amp, will that just cause the subs to not be at max power, or is it dangerous to the amp/subs? overheating issues, w/e? PLEASE LET ME KNOW.

it will be fine depending on the subs... as long as you dont try to overcompensate with the gains.. if you are underpowering the subs, there is no harm in that, the amp shouldnt overheat (unless you wire to a low ohm load) unless you try to compensate with the gains, and then stuff canbreak

what subs? what ohm? what model alpine?

Why don't you just run one sub?

if its 2 4ohm single coil subs.. 2 of them would be better then 1.... but yeah dont turn your gain way up and they will be fine.. turn your gain way up and the sub goes by by (ilearned the hard way by blowing all 3 of mine)
