Ive got a bit of a rear end whine in my 94 Z. Actually a bad one. Was wondering what shops in the area would do rebuilds for a decent price. Not dirt cheap but not insane. I bought the car with this like this. The car had bald nitto N555R's on it as well when i got it so i guess someone was having some fun. But oh well i got a decent price! Any info would be great

the whine i think is a bit to loud to be gears. Its only when the rear end has tension when slowing down in gear. Dunno may give coastal a call?

did you get it with a whine? or did it just start happening...whiney gears from an install is more common then some think.

I am not so sure about alans gear works any more. I had them put a set of 3.73s in a 2000 z with auto, lid, and hypertech. That rear only lasted about a year and a half before it broke. Now my rear just broke. Mabey its just coincidence, but thats two cars that I have been involved with that they did the gear work on.

On the 7.5 rear end the rear is weak to begin with. Going to higher ratios only makes them weaker.
I can't blame a shop's work for them breaking. Bad installs IMO cause whining. But I have seen the BEST installs ever break a week later on a 10 bolt. Just not meant for the power.

Thats why I am going to go fairly easy on the car until I can get a 12 bolt put in. Which will be a while.
