ok i have a 800.2 amp its not the brand new ones it the one before that the punch series.
im trying to do a clean install but i have a problem
i have 4 guage wire and i can get the wire into the tiny ass whole that the amp has for a power or ground. speaker wire fits there nicely lol what can i use to convert the 4 guage to fit in there with out using one strand to go into the amp.
i had this same problem with 8 guage wiring
second proble do anyone know where i can get cap holders from

Cut the wire down to size. Heat shrink around it a little so it's clean.

if i got a 4 guage done to the size of a 6 guage whats the sense of having 4 guage wiring

why would you wire with 4 guage if your amp doesnt accpet 4 guage?
at ANY rate, you can get a distribution block that has like 4-6 or 4-8 or whatever

if it an older seires it shoud have dual 8 awg in 2 for power and 2 for ground use a dist box and run two 8awg to it and its the same as 4awg

i have fosgate amps also ...... you just have to twist the wire really tight.... i dont get why there bigger amps use two 8 gauges wires why not just 4 gauge ?

I'll stick with my original suggestion, it's cheap and easy....won't make a difference. I do it often. There's also a little trick that you can do, heat shrink the tip of the wire completley, screw a small screw into the end of it, leaving about 1/4-1/2" exposed, grind or cut the head off and you just made a reducer.

I'd do it however RF recommends. The effectiveness of a cap is questionable anyways....so I doubt how you wire it will make much of a difference.

im pretty sure the cap is supposed to be hooked up before the amp.... what good would having the cap after the amp?

as for the cap im leaving mine how it is.

thank god someone noticed... put a cap on the speaker wires? or the ground?
