The reason initial D people and everyone crazy about drifting loves the AE86 so much is because it was the LAST year they came RWD. AE85 works too.

any program that has a ae86 in it,i'm watching gay or not
My comment was actually aimed towards the person that stated "The reason initial D people and everyone crazy about drifting loves the AE86 so much is because it was the LAST year they came RWD. AE85 works too"... He calls us Inital D people and not drifting enthusiasts and that the love of the Hachi is based on a JDM show.... I personally loved these cars long before I heard of Inital A, B, C or D......But, I also appreciate the Inital D videos and ish..... I just don't care for the Books......

the AE85 came in the US as the SR5 the single cam ones, but everyone wants either a 240 or and AE86 but the are more FR cars out there.

before drifting started, the AE86 were cheaper no matter what conditon they were, 240s were also cheap, but now they are sold like acuras for more than $3,500 and for a car that is 20yrs old
The US only got the AE86 chassis . Same spot welds as GTS etc .
The AE85 is japan , as toyota did not want to have toc rash test 2 types of cars for the US market . They just shoved teh 3AC/4AC into the AE86 chsssis changed the fuel tank and the rear end as well as suspension stuff . Look at the chassis code on an SR5 Vin plate it will rear AE86
