I was looking for a more specific answer. Anything about it to tell me exactly what year it is. Or I was wondering about what year the suspensions were changed in these cars? I am looking for a specific model that has a specific rear end setup. Thanks

are you looking for the 7 5/8" rear? I think that wasn't until 92. As far as the year, check the vin number. You should be able to find out using that. It looks like a late 80s to me.

I can't get a look at the vin, I can't even get near the truck. It's not more the rear but the suspension setup. To me it almost looks like the 83 2door tahoe version.

Its pretty impossible to say what year, since exterior remains the same, only real defing way maybe is if you knew how the paint colors changed over the years

Looks late 80's early 90's all of thoes models were the same. Only way you could really tell is how he said by checking the vin.

What years did you own and what was the rear suspension on them.

From 82 to 04 they had the same leaf spring suspension. The only thing that changed was the axle width and spring rates.

Fordified, do you happen to have more info on this. Like the actual years each of those factors changed?

A 91 and a 01, The suspension is the same on both, the 91 had the tahoe package and the jimmy was a ls. Both leafs with shocks, ride hieght didn't vary. What exactly is your question about the suspension, I know quite a bit about them and s-series in general. I'm on the s10forum.com there's some good help in there as well.

Thats all 2wd's, 4wd came with the 8.5 in most cases and were a couple inches wider thatn 2wd. But any 2wd in any year should be fine for ya, Now as far as gear ratio they vary all across the board, but get me a VIN and you can find just about everyting that way.

Hell depending on how quick you need in I'll sell you mine you may have seen in my thread on here "my work in progress" it's coming apart and getting parted out. It's a 7.5 stock suspension 3.43 gears a zexel limited slip rear.

It has to be a blazer, 2wd. Isn't your project a truck? Ok so they all have that suspension. Now someone was saying something about spring rates. What would be the best for a street car with slappers?
