No..its not SS related. I just bought a 2001 GMC C3 Sierra Extended cab. Looks just like the one on the left. Black to match the SS.

Damn thing has EVERYTHING. Engine is 325 hp 370 tq 6 liter LQ4 (same dam engine in the SS :D) Full time AWD with 38% front and 62% rear drive. You can mash the pedal down in the rain and it just takes the fuck off.:o Its supposed to run 15.5 at 88 mph stock. Not bad for a 5000 lb truck. A little juice and maybe a converter will get that in the 13s:D

The AWD system is supposed to be as sophisticated as any out there...and it does seem to work good. Here is a little info on it.
The Sierra C3's all wheel drive uses a viscous coupling to automatically lock the differentials at the first sign of traction loss. The viscous coupling is composed of a strong and lightweight magnesium housing that surrounds the
two axles with a silicone based fluid. The viscosity of the fluid varies from the consistency of karo syrup to the consistency of silly putty depending on the load it is placed under. As slippage occurs the disc plates within the differential shear this fluid so that faster rotating plates, those connected to slipping wheels, transfer power to slower rotating plates, the ones connected to wheels with better traction, which 'locks' the differential. Because of their fluidic nature viscous couplings continuously transfer
torque at all times and in a such a way that the driver never notices an adjustment in wheel traction.

The interior is a special edition. Basically the Denali package but for the trucks. Two tone leather, driver and passenger power seats with lumbar and side supports as well as two levels of heating. 6 CD in dash changer, all kinds of cool electronics, On Star, Kick ass stereo, and a million other things I cant even remember.

I got a great deal on it since I have the hookup. New sticker was about $40k...I paid much less than half that:D

Now I have something to tow the SS with (8700 lb tow capacity)

So you don't think the SS will make it to and from the track on its own ? :D

He could tow the truck with the SS if he had too.

The SS will always go TO the track on its own. If it gets to the point where it cant do that...it would be demodded to a point that it could. No trailor cars for me. Atleast not yet.

Now all you need is a 220/225 cam a set of headders and a NOS 5177 kit. Then you can go out hunting those SVT Ford trucks. :D
