View Full Version : << Coastal Dyno Day And BBQ Saturday, August 7th >>

Alrighty folks here are the details. I will try to not be long winded as usual.
1. Anyone is invited with any kind of car, the info. is just being posted in here and the GM forum instead of General Car Chat since we do not want to many people, my guess is we will have a lot anyway.
2. Everything starts at 12:00 on Sat. the 7th and goes until whenever (probably late). 7828 Causeway Blvd, Tampa is the address and Mapquest is your friend for directions so please use it. The shop # is 849-2423.
3. If you are going to dyno, it is going to be $40 for three pulls with A/F ! :o There will be a sign up sheet by the dyno so it is first come first served. Trailor queens welcomed. ;) :D
4. We will be cooking out all day. Bring some drinks and whatever you want grilled and I will cook it up. (Bringing my Weber gas grill this time). We will be taking up a collection to help pay for side items, plates, etc. that we will go buy in advance. This way no one has to bring any of this stuff and we do not have to rely on people to bring other things. We always seem to end up with 6 bottles of ketsup and no mustard etc., etc.. There will be several coolers there with ice but bringing your own if you have one will help. If you want to bring your favorite chips, etc. that is fine too but please make sure to kick in some money in the collection jar to help pay for the other stuff.
5. The show goes on rain or shine ! There is tons of air conditioned space inside if it rains so don't fag out if the weather looks bad, we will make fun of you later on if you don't show.
Now post up if you are coming and whether or not you will be using the dyno so we can get a feel for how many pan on showing.

I too would like to attend. I have been wanting to get my Mach dynoed and obtain some advice on what other mods can be done (other than the catback which I have). Sam installed my catback and I thought he and Chris were first class.

Hmmmmmmm, I am kind of interested in seeing how much power the Buick isn't putting down. If I get my header gasket in (blew it out the night of rolling thunder, shows how much do I like to work on my car) I'll probably head over.

I'd show up to see that. :D

Are the 3 pulls just to establish baseline numbers or can you guys tune the A/F ratios between the runs to try and get peak performance

Got the gaskets in, still has a small leak, but we won't get into that. How late will this be going? I was going to try and head over between 3-4. Something still just doesn't seem right about putting a Buick on a dyno

The sign up sheet for dynoing is going to be cut off at 7:00 p.m. but they will stay there until everyone that is on the list prior to 7:00 is finished.
Another reminder on the food stuff.

Pussy  I ended up being busy today, and by the time we got out there, there wasn't really anyone left so we headed out. I know how frustrating it can be to see the day winding down and then have people start coming in, that's what happened to me today

HAHA, I actually had the house cleaned up around 5:30am and made it to bed a bit after that. After the dog and cat got dropped back off we thought about heading out there but we still had to go to dinner with Frances' parents and that would have put us across town and been pushing it a bit.

I just remember at some point noticing the time and saying "Holy shit, it's 4 o'clock" I open at 10, I left the house at 10:20, so you know what kind of morning it was  Good news was when I got there, I had someone waiting for me, they said "you're late" I laughed and said "fire me" then they bought a car  All in all it was a good day. Thanks, and hopefully Frances was/is doing better today.

I told you I would help clean up, but you said you got it, so I curled up on the stairs and tried to fall asleep instead  . How did you end up geting the garbage can out of the basket ball hoop?
We headed out late w/ the buick to try to dyno, hit a down pour all through tampa an didn't get there till about 7:00. Oh well, it was a road trip and at least we know where they are now. Wish we could have made it earlier.

Good times...
I just jumped up and pushed the can up into the air and out of the hoop. Bad part was the can HAD been empty earlier, but had 2 beer bottles in it when it got put up in the hoop...so I got to get out the flashlight and pick broken glass out of the driveway at 5am.
