Kyle, yes my brother is the winner of the auction. We're going to have it shipped ASAP. I wanted to fly up and drive it down, but the carbs are jetted for Colorado altitude. Oh well! :-D

i thought the 2 doors were 2000 and the 4 door where 2002. im going to be helping in the rebuild of an original fuel injected 2000 (the first year bmw ever had FI) as soon as my friend gets all the parts.

Yes it's here in time for DDay III, but who has the guts to drive it??? It has no power steering and it wants to grip like a mofo. It's possible, but will be difficult. Plus it's not running right yet.

Uh, ok...
Anyway...
When you say "not runing" are you just refering to how lean the carbs are jetted right now? no power steerig on a corolla or honda is one thing, but on a car that big it'd break your fingers!
As for the gripping, you can always put shitty sires on the rear.
Of course, it would kind of be a shame to beat up a classic by drifting it...

He was referring to the other unnecessary conversations that were going on in the thread prior to being deleted.
I never said not running at all, just not running right. Yes, probably because of the carbs. It just needs to be tuned and on a dyno ASAP.
The car is VERY light so I have no idea what you're talking about. It probably weighs 1800lbs. I just have no muscle. I'll get used to it. hahaha
As far as the gripping, it's mostly due to the suspension. We would definitely put different tires on it. It's not really a classic car anymore. It's been completely changed as far as that goes.

that looks like fun! good luck. Do you have a transporter yet?
Top Gun transport is great.

I get Matt's comment now, thanks for clearing that up Regina.
1800 lbs eh? I thought they weighed a whole lot more than that... In that case no PS = no problem!
It may not be in "classic" condition, but its still a classic. You wouldn't want to run a L28 240Z into a wall would you?

i think the bigger problem is it has a really good steering rack ratio that makes turning the wheel hard when it's standing still..
it'd an awesome autocross car though, i drove it, and it's very torquey. not like most 2002's.

The car is already here. We picked it up from the truck Sunday morning, but thank you for the transporter info.
Yes, 2002's are extremely light weight vehicles, especially when stripped. This thing has interior, so it might be closer to 2000lbs. Matt is right about the steering rack. My brother explained it to me. I'll get used to it.
My brother says/thinks it will slide well. Who knows. Definitely going to be a track car though. Who will drive it??!?! I feel so bad that my brother can't. He wants to set up a Gymkhana in a big lot for the "Lebanese-American Car Club" he's going to form.
