Anyone running a DIY gps system


either a lcd screen with a laptop hook up or car computer. i need some ideas from people who are locals so i can see for my self how it operates

I used to have a laptop hooked up to scan convertor which was then plugged into an input for my Clarion in-dash tv.. I used Microsoft Streets & Trips, and even with the highest resolution and largest fonts, it was horrible to try and read.. words were impossible, etc..

I have seen others setup better.. but I definitely didn't have any luck.
