Don't say we didn't warn you.

Don't say we didn't talk about it.

October 17th, Ripken Stadium in Aberdeen, MD, DGTrials is going to war. It's North Vs. South time, so get your blue and grey coats, your confederate and colonial flags. Get your slaves and interchangeable parts ready, because it's WAR.

The rough details are being hatched out, but here goes:

Due to recent increases in insurance premiums, this event has the following costs:
$100 Preregistration for drivers
$125 Gate registration for drivers
$5 for spectators

If we get more than 40 drivers preregistered, we WILL offer some kind of rebate -- probably $10. We are expecting people to get around 14 runs or more (similar to DDay2). You normally pay $40 for 4 runs at autocross. $90 for 14 is a good bargain.

PREREGISTRATION CLOSES OCTOBER 1st
No exceptions. If you don't make prereg by the 1st, you pay $125. No rebate. We want to make sure we can plan this event out really well, and that requires timelyness on your parts.

HOTEL INFORMATION
Holiday Inn Aberdeen: 410-272-8100
in order to get group rates we need a guarenteed 10 rooms... at the holiday inn. Thier regular rate is $114 per night! however if we get 10 rooms they can offer a group rate @ $84.00 per room. We need to let them know ASAP so that we can reserve those rooms.

Please let the Holiday Inn know you are staying for the DGTrials/ MA-Motorsports event @ Ripken Stadiumand you want in on the group rate.

Red Roof Inn Aberdeen: 410-273-7800 alternative

Directions, and other fine print details are being worked out. This event should be a lot of fun. We're considering making it an SSS round just for giggles, so that should be fun, too.

Where are my bullets?

Starting from: Tampa, FL
Arriving at: 923 Gilbert Rd, Aberdeen, MD 21001-1246
Distance: 1012.2 miles Approximate Travel Time: 15 hours 34 mins

Another idea for you South soldiers we can transport our cars by Amtrak train! It's $439, not bad considering gas, adding milage and stress to our cars causin problems!

I do believe the autotrain requires minimum of 4 inches of ground clearance. some might not be able to get their cars on to it. It should be a mega cool event though hope to see some local guys there.

what rivalry. and 99% of the people drift their dailys so if it breaks all the way up in MD 1012.2 miles away they are kinda fucked. and that am trak things is prob $400 one way.

no thanks, maybe if it was a little more towards half way. NY to MD is alot closer than FL to MD.

WOO! the General Lee car needs to go up there and compete. The idea is great, but 1012 miles is a long way. I roadtripped 960 miles in one day (ATL to Oklahoma City), and it about killed me. I couldn't imagine doing it in a drift-equipped car. Personally, I'd rather spend that kind of money buying 2-3 new Option DVDs on ebay.

What the hell? It can't be a civil war if nobody from the South competes.

+1 That is wayyy too far to go drifting. I'll practice in the rain for free and no harm on my vehicle. ;)

Still waiting for the next Tampa event.......

IF they want to come down here, they can. But they'd rather have events up north, screw em.

it may be a great spot and be a ba ass event, but the simple fact is thats way to far for people from florida to drive their daily drivers and beat the shit out of them in a state over 1000 miles away. i'd be worried about making it home.

I just think the logical thing would be to find a more central meeting location. There are plenty of states to choose from to find another bad ass track or spot. I just don't see how they think MD is a good spot for the North and South to "meet and compete".

Well it's happening in Antietem which was the bloodiest battle of the Civil War. It would only make sense to have the divider be where the event is taking place, but if the event were to be held somewhere like SC it would pretty much be FL versus everyone.

Of course, with it being so far it will probably be me versus everyone...

I'm going, I don't care how far. Hopefully someone will be coming with me.

Im all for it North VS South but its just far! Complaining ain't going to get us nowhere, instead lets set something up half way, the shit aint going to happen by itself!
