View Full Version : What are your planned upgrades for DDAY3???

Seeing as how there was such a great turn out at DDAY2 I know some of ya'll have figured out that before DDAY3 rolls around you probably need to do a little tweaking here and there to make your car and yourself perform better, sooo...what are they?
Also post why you are doing these upgrades/tweaks so that others who are not as knowledgeable or who havn't thought about it can see what benefits they will gain from each. This will also help others critique your setup incase you are not as knowledgeable as them.
Mine:
Lightened flywheel and ACT Street/Strip clutch. My clutch was slipping like crazy at DDAY2 and figured since I had the clutch out I would get a flywheel too to allow the engine to stay in the revs longer between shifts and get up there faster.
Assuming I can pull the money together, and DDAY3 doesn't happen 'till August, I will have a turbo installed on the KA. The benefits: MORE SMOKE!! (from both tires and motor probably)

Well during Dday 2 my engine had some gnomes in it. But I used some gnome away and it works perfect now! so I can actually give it gas without the car wanting not to go stuffs. This should help tremedously with my drifting...
oh and tein he's

What kind of performance gains did you get? Can you really tell it's there or what. Like if someone got in your car for a ride would they be like, "Damn this thing revs fast!" or what? I've never had or been in a car with a lightened flywheel installed.

the later the better for me to.
you can tell a difference with a lightened flywheel, not the biggest difference, but you can tell. but its a little tricky for daily driving cause your revs drop really quick.
on my list for things to do i have the AASCO flywheel, clutch kit, perfect tranny i picked up for $80, rotors, and pads.
basic maintinance right now.
but it doesnt help that i have $11 in my bank account now. i hate rent. so i need about $550 give or take $20 within 2 months. and im making shit for money now. prob about $800 a month now. this fucking sucks.

Well dang, Mike, sorry a g e m o m a i made me vow to upgrade my sus next, body roll +1! But, so far, iv'e bought 25mm front and rear anti-sway bars, bilstein shocks, and I haven't decided what springs to get between eibach, H&R, or IPD.
Oh, and just searching for my donor jeep to get my LSD. More than one tire up in smoke is necessary.
and maybe i'll remember to turn off the a/c next time

Have to agree with you. I just want a car running so I can be apart of it. Spectating last time was fun and all.. but damn I want to be doing it.

i like H&R's spring rates, very nice for daily, but stiff enough to cure almost all of your body roll. :)

I'd like to install rear steer eliminators, adjustable front upper camber mounts and adjustable rear camber bar to replace the factory non adjustable unit. I would also like to lower the entire car another 1/2" and install slightly larger diameter swaybars both front and rear.
Other than that just go out and have fun, all while trying not to break anything.
