Wheel offset

I wanted to get some good but not to expensive wheels for drifting. After much looking, I have decided to go with some Rota Subzeros (http://store.racinglab.com/rotwheelsub13.html) . The offset is like +40mm and I know a stock 240 has like +32 or +35mm offset... so would I need spacers? If not, what should I do to get a better offset? I plan on upgrading my suspension (tein coilovers most likely) soon, so I dont know if that will effect anything.

Finding steelies can be difficult. I've had several people look for me, but they want too much $$$ for them! I don't want to spend $400 on steel rims with no tires!

If you're going to spend money on new wheels, you might as well get something with an offset where the wheels aren't trying to hide from the world. Stock is 40mm. IMO, any offset over 30 is not good.

as far as cheap five lug wheels, look to the land of mullets....non-oldass mustangs come with 16x7.5" wheels stock, same dimensions as the z32 wheels. Check good junkyards for 'em that charge like a $25/wheel flat rate or something like that.

I want some good looking wheels. Nothing stock looking. Any other suggestions for good priced/good offset wheels? I want something nice.

do yourself a favor and get an offset claculator from ANYWHERE on the web.

good rule of thumb is, get wheels that will automatically clear coilovers. they should also clear the z brakes or larger, but sometimes the type of wheel may necessitate a small spacer to get it to clear.

go for a 8+ inch in the front 9+ inch in the rear if you're gonna get wehels.

a good offset is 17x8 + 20 to 25 and 17X9 +35-40 it's good for stock fenders.

now if you do a fender pull and roll of 15mm on the rear, then subtract 15 from your offest. now a 17x9+20-25 will work gear, hell, i know people with 17x9+15 on the rear due to spacers, and there's no rubbing because of their setup.

stay away from honda wheels. they don't fit, they don't look right.

youll need some camber to make that work



rear works
7" + 40
8" +38
9" +35
all of those will work, it's much easier to fit stuff on the rear. in fact anything will fit on the rear, just depends on how flush you want to make it

honestly, if you buy my pro n1's youll be set.

depending on the coilover though, and if you even want that type of a suspension, you may want to get a 5mm spacer for it.

it probably won't hit if you stretch a 215 on the front (what i would do ) but then i would space it out like 20mm and pull the fender anyway ;-)
