Here's a route off the top of my head to take:

Southbound on Dale Mabry to 275 S and head over HFIS, then pit at the racetrack? gas station on 4th street. From there head out to the Bayside bridge and go north to CCC, and pit again at the beach area where we all gathered the last Rolling Thunder.

Welp, I'd say that S2000 should be able to keep up and is definitely a 110+mph car...

I'll be there w/ the Red beauty. It will be nice to meet some new folks and stretch the S's legs a little. It might not rumble but decent hp paired to a 9k redline gets it moving pretty quickly......

it was ungodly awesome, and i was riding bitch as camera boy cause i couldnt get the bird finished in time. got a good 45 minutes of footages, and i believe everyone who posted they were coming showed cause we left 7-11 with 50+ cars, and when we got to the beach, had 53 plus some other stragglers, AFTER we had lost a lot of people who made a wrong turn onto gandy instead of roosevelt. most definately a fun time, hopefully i can be more active next time.

Never lost a hubcap (knocking on wood), but I did manage to blow out a header gasket on the drive over, car sounds like shit, and I'm not looking forward to fixing it at all :( Overall, had a good time, but as was mentioned, it would have been cool to end up someplace we could stay without hassles. Maybe end someplace like Quaker Steak next time :dunno: I'm sure if we let them know in advance, they'd be totally cool with it, hell they'd probably rope off part of the parking lot for us. The wife and I both brought our cars, and all we got to do was play phone tag "where are you now?" "where are you going?" "where should I pull in?" :lol: I thought it would be a little tighter pack, or we would have just brought one car. Hell, I lost half the cars just pulling out from Burger King. I don't mean to offend anyone, but one of the coolest things about this night was seeing that many domestics together, going by the things I've read in here, everyone is driving an import now. Glad to see some people still prefer domestics, and there were some damn nice ones at that :grin:

Speaking of civics, I don't think anyone saw it, but when our small group was coming back from the wrong side of the courtney campbell, these two assholes in civics come flying up through traffic, I look in the mirror and see green windshield squirters, I'm like WTF? and at that same moment they cut off my wife. Then he got up next to me and I sped up to block him off so he couldn't get back over :evil2: Then I matched the speed of the car in front of him so my wife could catch up and he couldn't cut her off again, but too late, he missed her by inches. When traffic finally broke, him and his buddy go flying by with matching windshield squirters, I almost wrecked I was laughing so hard when I got to see his whole car, silver civic with unpainted white body kit, the left side of the rear bumper cover was flapping in the wind, wing, the whole deal, that bitch was mad tight, yo :lol: It's scary to think someone actually wants their car to look like that :lol:

Overall it was a great night and an incredible turnout. I was blown away by the amount of cars we had show.

Acouple things will be different next time:

1. A preset route that everyone know's...hell maybe even a little map action printed. Although the route was listed in this thread, too amny didnt know it.

2. A later time to depart and also a set meeting time and departure time. This will alleviate all the "I was still inside" excuses.

3. Going to have to figure out a way to get as many out and on to the road at one time as possible. With set lead and block cars to better facilitate keeping the pack together.


Any suggestions are welcome, as this was just an idea to try to get as many people out on a cruise to have a good time. Seemed pretty successful in that manner. i am still blown away by how many people participated.

How's next month look for you guy's to do it again, and this time with a lil more FEELING!! ?

I dont mind playing blocker. Ive closed down a few roads in my day. I would also suggest meeting closer to the interstate, so people can keep up without hitting red lights the whole way.

i think for the next event, we will try to coordinate it closer to the interstate to make it easier to keep the pack together. also, maybe tagging a few back windows of people who know the route, so everyone can follow one of them if they happen to fall back, kinda like "troop leaders" because dale mabry really killed the pack initially...but once we got to the interstate, i have video of nothing but a line of cars allllllll the way up the onramp, then once i merge into traffic, it pans back to see the entire onramp still bumper to bumper :D

as for the movie, its being digitized tonight, and i will begin editing either tonight or tomorrow, id say expect a finish product within a day or so depending on when i get the vid.

When we were headed to Eddie's g/fs house for her house warming party we were passed by 3 cars driving like jackasses through heavy 275 traffic. Cutting behind us from the center lane to the outside lane, then across 3 lanes of traffic to the inside lane, and back to the outside lane. I won't mention names but I saw a TA, followed by a Lightning, followed by the Impala.

I have to say it surprised me and pissed me off at the same time to see people acting like that on a busy highway.

No, no foot in mouth here. It's completely different. it was the HF, probably 2:30 AM and I rolled into it with NO ONE around.... There were probably 3 cars on the entire bridge and they were all at least 2-3 lanes away from me, endangering only myself - not cutting between traffic, tailgaiting and cutting people off on a busy road endangering numerous vehicles around. you knew me and rode with me I'm not some crazy a-hole that goes around splitting traffic and asking to be turned into hamburger. I'm sure we've all explored the upper boundaries of our vehicles capabilities - trust me there was far more to go and I was showing restraint by not taking it higher.

I have no problem with playing around on your own, but endangering others is a different story!!!

Kenny, I can vouch for what Ken is talking about and so can Frances, Jomar and Steve. When we were headed to Eddie's g/fs house for her house warming party we were passed by 3 cars driving like jackasses through heavy 275 traffic. Cutting behind us from the center lane to the outside lane, then across 3 lanes of traffic to the inside lane, and back to the outside lane. I won't mention names but I saw a TA, followed by a Lightning, followed by the Impala.

I have to say it surprised me and pissed me off at the same time to see people acting like that on a busy highway.

Yep, I saw 2 T/A's, Impala and a Lightning driving like jackasses while riding shotgun in Steve's truck. There was this one Asian guy in a Vette who drove like an educated master of the road obeying all traffic laws though. :D

All I have to say is, Rolling ThunderI was the funnest night I've had since I moved to Tampa 2 1/2 years ago. Then came Rolling ThunderII. And if I didn't manage to get myself lost for most of the ride, I'd say it would have easily topped Part I. I trully enjoyed seeing everyone again, Billy, Ken, Jomar, Chris, and a few others. Hope we can cruise again real soon! :)
