Okay, Im sure this has been asked before but I searched for it and couldn't find answers so here goes...
I know about drifting. The physics...the different techniques... etc. but the actual application of it, now thats another story. The first 240 I purchased had an sr20 in it. WAY WAY to much power for me to learn how to drift it. Taylor drove it (I think he said that it changed his mind about SR20's). So I sold it. Got too busy with my life (band, opening a new tattoo and piercing shop) and forgot about it.

Fast forward a year and here I am. I just purchased a 1990 240sx with 68000 miles on it. 100% stock. Yeah its a crappy SOHC but, after changing the water pump the day it got it, it is in REALLY good condition.

What should I do first to it?

Is it possible to drift a SOHC? I know Taylor told me it was a time bomb, no matter how many miles it had on it. So, should i just drive it like a normal person till I have money to get a Ka24de?

I was watching the Miami Showoff Videos...and I have to say (not to sound like Tarzan swinging off your nutts or anything) But I was really impressed.

Any advice you have for me will be greatly appreciated!

Very Respectfully,

Tim

The single cam still has enough torque to break loose, so yea it can drift.

rain is your hero. i can say that the best guys in the tampa area all grew up on rain training. find a secluded parking lot, wait for a good rain, and go rip it up for hours.

we have a couple people we need to teach this summer. once its starts raining regularlly drop a line on the board...can prolly arrange something.

rain sucks, learn to drift on dry.

it is safer. because if u spin, u arent gonna slide 100 extra feet.

rain is way better than dry.

because you can slide around going only 5 or 10mph so you wont slide very far

baby steps.
