Sebring or Ft. Myers or both.
I think I am going to do Sebring on Sunday only.

Let me know if you want to caravan.
Last year we met up in Valrico.

Was planning to make both events but decided to hit the road that weekend and head north to DC! Got some tough competition in SM2!

Cool deal, Jamal. I had a great time at the DC Pro last year. Say hi to Team Underdog for me! ;) Make sure to bring a hawaiian shirt, too!

Good luck Jamal - Win tires this time!!!

I'll be at Sebring Saturday for sure. Sunday depends on what the Harvey's do. If Bill brings his roadster out both days, I think I'll run against him both days. If not, I might head down to Ft. Myers Sunday.
I'll be taking the back roads to Sebring as I can head right out the back of neigborhood and get there quicker.

Good luck Jamal. And hey, you don't always have to go out of state for good SM2 comp., just buy me a supercharger!;)

If I can get the weekend off, or maybe just quit another job, I'll do Sebring Saturday and Ft. Myers Sunday. If I can only do Sunday than that's a tough choice - Sebring is once a year (and closer) but Ft. Myers has the competition.

No Underdog party this time at the Pro.....but at Peru instead!!

I'll be in DC....see ya there Jamal...Jim and I are driving up probably Thursday or Friday, although we haven't figured out exactly yet.

Thanks for the support guys! Todd, you don't need no stinking SC, you're already too fast! Just switch to SM2 and give me some competition! :D

Hey Jesse, congrats on taking 1st place man! Let's do it again next week! Ian and Bob got their trophies this weekend too, 1st and 2nd, congrats to both of them! They're gonna make things very hard for me in DC!

Keith and I are leaving to DC right after work on Thursday and making a stop somewhere in Atlanta I think, then hitting the road real early Friday to get there in time for some practice runs. Need to check out the surface, I heard there's lots of grip out there. The guy who won ASP in a M Coupe has a very similar setup to mine, he told me the Hoosiers will do well there, let's hope so! Maybe we'll meet up on the way up there once you guys figure out when you're leaving.

The grip is good if you run later in the day....I was 5th car out, so it was a bit slick, but awesome on Sunday.

I'm not too worried about practice starts....its so easy in my car, 3500 rpm, side-step it at the 3rd yellow, and foot to the floor until you have to turn.:)

We'll be trailering the MR2, so I don't know if we'll be able to keep up with you on the highway, but we'll see. I'll let you know whats going on as i figure it out.

which place we can have more runs? I'm sure many cars are out to Sebring.

oilleak

More runs at Ft. Myers on Saturday during the test and tune - only 3 or 4 runs there on sunday. It'll depend on how many show up for Sebring but I'm hoping we'll get 4 or 5 runs each day at a minimum

Well, it's work Saturday and calling in sick Sunday to do Ft. Myers.
Wish I could do DC...

shoulda gone to ft myers, sebring sucked. i enjoyed watching the club racers more than i did driving my 3 runs at the autox... :madfawk:

i'll go to a sunriders event any day over another sebring autox if cfr-east is in charge!

Second that. Worst run event i have ever been to. Started way late, stupid schedule for lunch, and on a 65-70 second course with 3 cars on course and only 70 or so drivers and only 3 runs. Amature hour over there at CFR east. Last event they run i will ever do.

On a positive note Club Races are cool. If you ever get a chance to check one out its worth it. Probably some of the best fender to fender racing I have ever scene.

As y'all know, I'm not much involved with CFR, but I'll step up to their defense anyway.

Remember, Neal and Katie moved away recently. They were the driving force behind the Solo II events on this side of the state. This is one of the first, if not THE first event that CFR has done without them, and I'm sure there were a lot of wrinkles.

Three runs kinda sucks... but they WERE three 70-second runs. Equivalent to six 35-second runs. No all THAT bad as far as autocrosses go.

I'm just trying to get a little more optomism going here... don't give up on them just yet. Maybe ask how you can help if you have the time to offer.

Yeah - I thought the course wasn't that great... and the lunch break was a little long... but it doesn't mean that I won't go back. I am looking forward to their first event at the Brooksville site... lets see how that goes.

And Loren has a great point... If you don't like how things go with a certain club, become a member, volunteer, and GET INVOLVED. If you have ideas to help improve the experience I am sure they would like to hear about it - not just complaints, but solutions.

anyway... don't give up just yet.

CFR-East has the worst run events I have ever seen. Their run/work schedule is the worst in the country. The last CFR-east event I went to I got three 29 second runs!!!! I refuse to run another event that they organize. I don't run MSCC events for the same reason, the HORRIBLE run/work schedule.

BTW, I went to FT Myers on Sunday, and there were more than a few people there that had done Sebring the day before.

yep, the first statement couldn't be more true! neal & katie ran the CFR-West events & neal was there saturday(but not in charge)

cfr-west = good/well run events
cfr-east = crappy events, i haven't heard too many positives about cfr-east events.

Never reply when you're in a hurry. (it was one of those days)

I thought the original post said "cfr-west" ran the event. Not enough attention to detail on my part.

Yes, I *have* heard that the East coast events have less than stellar organization. That's too bad... but it happens.

Neal's still in town. Sorta... the house isn't sold, but he's got a job where he's travelling a lot.

But of note, like has already been cleared up. CFR East ran Sebring, so Neal and Katie weren't officials at the event, even if both were still in town.

I was very happy to be at the DC Pro, even if it did rain, and I got 2nd in class, and 2nd in the Super Challange:)

Congrats! That's an impressive finish. Are you running the series, or just stealing points away from those who are? :)

I'll be doing 4 ProSolos this year, and then the Finale. 3 in my car, and it looks like possibly one in Neal's up in Michigan.

I've got 32 points so far....2 2nd place finishes.

Sweet. Have you made any changes to the car this year?

Clarification Note 2

Brooksville will be run by CFR west. That will be a stellar run event and i would recommend to all who can attend to go. The surface is nice concrete, lots of room, and as always for CFR west events very creative course design. Hopefully people will show up and make Brooksville a good new site.

hey everyone, i have not been on here since i signed up but i race every ft myers event. i am also interested ingoing other places so i hope you all can help me out. oh yeah i hope they all allow trucks because i am the only one that i know that races mine.

PseudoRealityX

SCCA allows some trucks to run, as long as they're not raised, 4wd, or use oversized large tires that would help it tip.

got some lightweight wheels. Mazda Millenia fronts, and Kosei K1 rears. Only use them at the National events, as they've got the Hoosier S04s on them.

I've run my F-150 Lightning once. Fun, but too scary for my blood. I'll wait until the project is finished.

Congrats again Jesse! You kicked some major butt up there! Wish I could say the same thing about me. :( Next National event I'll be a little more prepared! No leaking diff, slipping belt and some fresh Hoosiers! At least Keith's Hoosier wets worked real good!

good to know about those Hoosier wets. Too bad about Sunday's runs for both of you.
