everyone seemed to really improve alot, heck by the end the volvo even looked hot.

I think the star of the show was Bill in the Sil-ata (dont know if thats the official name but hey works for me), Matt also looked great in the enjuku car and I think James was tearing it up too.

Definitely a good event, great place and a great group of event organizers, snaps to all

Absolutely amazing.

Big thanks to Bill and Rob ripping it up in the miata (officially SRM). Wish you guys could have seen the flawless run Rob did in the skyline friday.....made it look like the car was made to drift...all in 1st gear.

Another big thanks to SS and DG trial...good stuff

I started out terribly, then I definitely improved after Jason helped me.

By the way, to the girl that was talking shit about me... I know I'm not great, but I had fun. I'm sure you had a lot of fun sitting on the side talking shit about me. Next time criticize me to my face and bring your own car out and drive the track. Thanks. :)

Jamie did really well... I saw a ton of people improving throughout the day. It was a VERY successful event and I can't wait to participate in the next.

Not at all. I hate drama. That's why I think she should've either kept her mouth shut or took her car out and made me look stupid, but she did neither. Who knows... maybe I could learn something from her, but when she's sitting on the sidelines talking shit she just looks like a dumb bitch.

Yes... Mike... Matt was drifting the motherfucking SHIT out of the Enjuku car. It was insanely beautiful. That's my man!! hahaha ;)

lots of good drifting and lots of fun!

!! Borolla !!

I really regret not replacing my worn out azenis and had to run some lesser tires up front - the open diff owned me without having good grip up front so I couldn't toss the car around like I wanted, but Oh well...

Yup mattback drifted the s15 thing awsome and I was amazed by that sr20 powered miata - never thought I'd see a miata drift that well. I liked the variety at this event too, all sorts of different cars kickin them out...

The Kyle

yeah the turnout was wicked, such a variety of cars, we even had a volvo sedan and a foxbody mustang hahaha it rocked the party.

I went without my car (as its still in shop) and still had a good time. I was the guy walking around by himself cause none of my "B-town boys" wanted to come. Matt did a HELL of a job drifting the enjuku, the miata was bad ass, that half yellowish/goldish half whatever other color S13, and the red coupe towards the end of the day all did a nice job IMO. Ill be out at the next one regardless of car/friends or not.

i had a blast, 1st time the rolla has been dry drifted ever, and by the second heat was doing good with it, 3rd heat was more experimentation with weight shifting and what not. now only if erik didnt act so unprofessional about the whole grass issue and actually planned ahead on it, then it would have even been better

the way he handled it with people and listening to him on the radio.

in a drift event you gotta know people are going in the grass, if its gonna cost you money, then spec out the places that are going to hit the most and adjust the price accordingly. id have paid an extra $5 not to hear him whine about it all day to random people.

props to matt for calming the situation, many of us were a little pissed off about it.

It was awesome. I drove down from Jax and got back at 10:00. Matt killed it in the Enjuku car and Blake with the Subaru (hotness). I loved seeing everybody tear it up.

well if some one is constantly flying off into the grass at the same turn every time, then something needs to be said.

everyone shit talks when they think nobodys listening...so lets not be hypocritical and pretend like its something we've never done before.

mistakes will be made....im glad its just grass

grass < wall

on a good note however...the owner is very pleased with the overall turnout and thinks everyone did a great job picking up trash!

Well some people had half the car go off at the beginning and would stay on the throttle. Once he made the statement people seemed to be a lot more carefull. Also it looked like everybody was going real slow and gentle in the grass when they did go off. Funk and a couple others went way off they didnt seem to do any damage and just slide to a stop.

By the end of the day everybody was doing awesome.... It was nice.

Thank you... I don't think I got to meet you. Jamie is really good... she has more confidence than I do... I'll admit it. I would probably be a lot better if I had more confidence, but yes I try to stay within limits because I just have a cautious personality. Most people that drift can go "balls out" or whatever you want to say. I can't... maybe one day.

I know one thing, i need sus bad, i've got some minor upgrades but i feel like the car could be so much tighter. throughout the day i kept telling my self "hey fucker, don't break anything you've gotta drive this pile 80 miles home" And i only managed to bend a swaybar mount. Next time out should be much better as i am going to invest in some major sus mods. I guess i could use a little more power too, 149whp aint really doing much, but than again power doesnt have alot to do with it as long as the car is balanced, correct?

Anyways, great time, let's keep slidin'

-Eric I love people who sit on the sidelines and pop off at the mouth because a sport that is dominated by 99.9 percent of the import crowd had 1 Mustang there meant that I was like unwelcome or a shitty driver ..I heard other comments to about not being able to drift etc etc. People dont know me so they dont know what is wrong with my car either. I need a new clutch pack for my car and can only slide to the left and not to the right so I used the turns in my favor and just drove around the ones I couldn't use at all.

DDay lobster crew #001!
Today really changed my outlook on drifting. I'm a mod on a 240 board, and it really seems everyone, their brother, and their dog are "drifters." These are the same "drifters" that post 2 weeks later about totalling their car into another car, or into a curb at a parking lot, or some other stupid place. But to see people actually organized at a legal place with safety first was great. Most (95%) of you guys out there started rough and got much better towards the end of the day.
The few cars.. zfever white z32, some red car, and some black z32 speeding down the specatator strip, or "drifting" the hairpin in the back was really unprofessional and retarded.
No I wont drift my car, but watching on the sidelines was awesome! Matt, Bill, Taylor, Blake, and a ton of others were killin it out there. When DD3 happens, I'll be right back out there!

I'm really bumed that I missed it, but I guess I can't complain being here in New England driving the twisties, as well as scoping for potential DG event locations (on public roads as well!!!)...

When D-Day 3 comes around, consider me registered whether I am still driving the CRX or otherwise!

It sounds like the one thing that would have made the day more enjoyable would have been sun block!

Don't let his Jewishness fool you - Erik is a really good guy and does everything he can to make the events the best that they can be for everyone, as well as cheap.

I was talking with the owner/operator at the track and he was happy to see the grass go. He was telling me how someone previously planted the wrong kind of grass and he was happy it was being "removed" so the good grass could grow in.. He mentioned he was pleased how well organized it was.

I was a little concerned will how the Miata driver was driving in the pit lanes and when he went off into the parking section. Lucky no one was standing around when he went out like that.. there were some young kids in that area.

I had fun.

As for Regina, I spoke w/ you at the end of the day (guy w/ the white coupe asking about your diff). You did fine. Don't worry the people talking shit. Who cares. You're progressing w/ your skills and that's whats important. Cautious isn't always a bad thing! Some of those drivers out there were going too 'balls out' and getting a little ahead of their skill level. You definately won't break as much this way or go spinning backwards over the rumble strips to the next turn like I did a couple times! :D I'd say you did great and you had a blast, as did the rest of us... a day well done!

well when the brake booster line pops off and the shifter brakes all at the same time i would like to see how well you could recover!! since you weren't in the situation you have no reason to be upset about it. i didn't hit anything and kept the car upright which is better than you prolly could have done. coulda, woulda, shoulda, shit pisses me off. nothing happened so lets leave it like that.

Bill you managed the situation just as it should have been, i was acctually standing on that side of the track at the time the problem accured, i knew something was up when you just plowed strait through the corner and into the pits... than around the lake... There's really not much you could have done. You drove the piss out of that SR Miata all day long and i think no-one could have done it better. See you next time?

i had alot of fun, everybody has inproved greatly, you defently need power to combo alot of the turns, to The tires guys, you need to get your $hit in line.

Best things was:
It was really cool to see the 5.0 get sideways, that can not be an easy car to get sideways +1
Regina and james has really come alot with their skill...
Watching a few people link up the back turns...
some dood in a dress... that was just killer...

whens Dday III ?

And seeing as how that statement was made at me, go fuck yourself. ;)

-Eric no reread what I said, none was directed at you at all.So now that I can go fuck myself ,I think I will.

I was reminded by you that there were shit talkers out there and then that got me into a roll about them.I started talking about others, thus why I said "if you were one of them" .....

Bill - I don't thin the SportCompactValue dude was pissed at you - I just think he was concerned. Sounds like everyone handled themselves in mature and respectable fasion.

I, for one, would LOVE to see more domestic and European cars. I'm sure once people realize that a high-performance F- or fox-body can be had for mad cheap cash they will quickly pick up.

-Jeff

F-off jeff.. that white car had z-TUNER down the side a$$hole.. get your facts straight. It was the one burning down the side strip.. my car doesn't even have stickers on it to begin with. Go die

martin :)

Whoa whoa. Go die is kinda harsh. I'm really sure I meant to type Z-tuner, but somehow got it switched in my head. I did see the white z-fever car, stickerless in the vendor section. z-tuner had a gigantic silver banner down the side. Yea, yea, my fault. Extremely sorry for the name switching.

You right.. I was not mad.. he tore it up on the track.. my car was over there and my son and I were over there eating earlier. There was a blue truck parked there earlier too. Next event there they should have everyone park way on the other side or just block that track exit off. It will likely be a bigger event if they have another and with more people they will need to look at safety.. I would not have parked there looking back or even stood by/around that corner.. anything can happen. Thanks for helping me clear that up.

me and charles did a little bit of counting ... the miata did between 40-50 laps on that track between friday and saturday. 90 deg F day.. 1.1 bar, 20 deg timing.. tell me that is not a testament to sr endurance. one hell of a test for the rear sump we developed for this motor.

I wanna thank everyone for coming out and making this event a success. It was a really good showing on both the participant and onlooker fronts.

All your comments and complaints (although very few of these!) are duly noted and will be taken into consideration for DDay3 -- wherever it may be.

I want to thank everyone that helped out, especially guys like TonyVuViet and Scott and Rob -- people who didn't turn a lap on the track all weekend but just trudged around in the heat and sun and bugs to make the event go smoother for guys like you. You all should be really thankful to have dedicated volunteers like them.

I also want to thank the spectators for being in control all weekend. Yes there were a couple of yahoos, but the vast majority of you were really well behaved and clean, and that's something that goes a long way to getting us back to that venue again.

Overall, the event was excellent. Definitely one of the best ones that DGTrials has run so far. Let's all get ready for the next one!

Yay Volunteers!

I didnt get track time but my car suuure looked good sitting on the sidelines. Thats ok, I like to think that i helped keep this event running smoothly and thats more important than me being greedy.

Everyone looked great out there (not to sound repetative, but its true.) Thanks to all for making this event run as good as it did. I honestly think this event, even being much larger, went better than the first, so I have high hopes for third. I cant wait to volunteer again because I think I had just as much fun watching as you guys did driving, seriously!

Zeig DGTrials!
