and the Explorer is seeing a big makeover. So far, I know of 4 g's coming my way total from 2 relatives. I dont know how much else I am getting from the others. I want to save atleast 2g's so I am spending the rest. Next monday is when I get to start spending it all and so far my plans are the following

I am upgrading the whole system. I am trading in my panasonic cd player and alpine subs at CC and getting the new pioneer full color cd player

I am buying a Stereo Integrity D2 15" Magum and a hifonics 1500D mono amp. I am redoing the whole set up and building a ported box

As for all the non-stereo things I am upgrading I am getting custom dual flowmaster exaust, 5% tint and a 3" drop all around. If i have enough I then want to get a cheap but good used 18-20" chrome rims.

I have one problem, I cannot build a ported box for shit. I have no idea how to do it as I always just made sealed enclosures. So if i took some measurements on how big the box can be can someone make me a design and Ill throw them 5 bucks via paypal or something? Thanks so much and tell me what you guys think

Did you not get a graduation gift?

As far as spending a large amount on your car, do it carefully. Alot of times I regret putting any money into my car when I think of all the other things I could have spent it on (ie, nicer car to begin with, house, ect.). Not to mention car mods are worthless when you go to sell it. Just some words of wisdom from someone who's already been there....

Yeah I hear ya,
most of the money is going into the system because I know I can use it later down the road if I get a new car.

If you plan it out right, you shouldn't have to buy anything twice, right? I guess I'm not a true car audio fanatic, once I get a setup that pleases me I can stick with it for quite a while.

it's only a problem when you find a good oppurtunity to upgrade... what scares me is i don't know what i could do to improve on the system in my truck (beyond redoing the door panels so it doesn't look so... well, stock) without moving up into ultra ridiculous audiophile stuff (rainbow, etc.) i mean the only thing i can think of is move up to a better hu... but the alpine is working pretty well for me so i'm gonna stick with it.

well some stuff broke.. and thats somehting you never prepare for. You can plan all you want but when your amp lights on fire or your mid and x over become waterlogged... and when you hear stuff thats better...

I love the way this man thinks

and yeah I am not spending it all. Im only spending half of it and saving the rest, if I even spend half. I just wanna have a loud ass system which is something Ive always wanted, which is why I bought a SUV in the first place
