Kouki Bumper, Lovebugs hate us, matt+regina pic update

Ah yes, so where were we? Being that more and more people in the area are rocking the sohc bumper with the front lip, I had to keep the innovation in effect ;-)

So, after a little searching, wheeling and dealing, I now present you with this!

1998 Nissan 180SX Front bumper including side panels ;-) This is reffered to as the ' type-x' bumper by the uneducated, but in actuality, all 1996-1998 180sx came with this bumper, whether it is a Base, Type R, or Type- X. (different trim options on each but same bumper, however that rice-tastic wing is factory on the type x)

They want me to put these square driving lights and round turn signals in, but I'm not sure I want those there at all :lol:

The goodnews is that after a full track day at a local roadcourse, I didn't rip it off or anything like that! (after a few grass excursions)

sucks that the oem bumper has the molded inset for the nissan emblem. it would have been nice to not have the front emblem shaved and not have that there, but its still cool.

remove dent + paint = even better! i know it will come soon enough :)

And Matt, are you going to go with the matching sideskirts and other associated stuff? It's just amazing how good that bumper makes the entire design of the car look. It just eliminates the pointy nose while giving it some depth.

ive' seen kouki side skirts on a coupe, they dont' work at all for some reason.. the flowy inside doenst like the line of the coupe.

but i'm getting some side skirts for it, dont you worry ;-)

just curious...what are the weight differences between the hatchback and the coupe?

im guessing they should both be the about the same weight...but other than that are there any other differences between the coupe and the hatch besides the way they look?

its around 30lbs lighter than the hatches (same year vs same year) from everything i have read. Supposed to be stiffer also

Coupe is about 100lbs lighter to my knowledge and handles better. Who knows. It's all personal preference.
