Hey ya'll - just heard about this site from a friend so thought I'd check it out. Right now, I'm up at FSU for school, but after graduation - I'm moving back down there to St. Pete for Stetson Law School and am trying to get into the car scene down there since it is almost non-existent in Tallahassee.
I've got a 1990 Nissan 240SX with a couple mods done, but awaiting a motor swap and several other toys!!!!

Being a newbi is always fun :)

All the car scene had going for them up here in Tally was Team Kaos, and of course they had to go and break up. Then there's always the wanna-be car enthusiasts S-Factor. I give them props for trying, but everybody thinks they are a joke. They had a car show last year with 150 or so entries, this year - at the 2nd annual one - they go down to about 80 entries. Does that not make logical sense or is it just me?

I need to get out of here and be in a place with real cars, not just rice burners...

Thanks for all of the welcomes :)

As far as the swap goes, I was debating between an SR20 and an RB20 (the RB only because I can get it for less than a grand and would have all the extra money to build it up), but I think I'll end up doing the SR and just building that up - they're more reliable from what I've read.

92CX Hatch - When were you up here? I saw a "loud" RX7 the other day that was your body style so just wondering. I know how you feel about the looks though - I get that everyday. With my car, I have the cat taken off and 2.25 inch straight pipe all the way back so I get lots of those evil looks. Like I said, I can't wait to get out of here and into a real car scene!!! I'll give some cars up here credit, they're pretty tight - but for the most part, they suck!!!

As far as pictures go, I have a couple posted on Yahoo Photos, I even put the one where some dude in an SUV (without spinners) ran into me at a red light a couple weeks ago... the address is- http://f2.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/crazynole6/album?.dir=/4de0&.src=ph&store=&prodid=&.done=http%3a//f2.pg.photos.yahoo.com/crazynole6

I don't know how to put a link in here - apologize for the length.

I know, I know... I'm just trying to hide behind my car because I'm just so disgusting looking J/K. I'm going to get them scanned in tomorrow and uploaded into my online photo album. As soon as I do so, I'll make them available - it'll be tomorrow afternoon sometime.

Yes well mmmk, the sooner you can get those on the better. They get pretty fiesty when you break the rules.

I'm pretty sure she means the RB20, from a first gen Skyline I BELIEVE.

alright - i finally got the pics uploaded... the link is http://f2.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/crazynole6/my_photos

Don't wany anyone getting fiesty and breaking rules or anything now :)

92cxhatch -
If it was about 2 weekends ago, I think that was you I saw. I was driving on Tennessee and the car stood out compared to all the other ghetto rides on the road. I know my car isn't as loud as yours, but she holds her own on the road. Who needs cell phones to tell someone your outside? - Just rev the motor up, it's a lot easier :)

I did mean the RB20, just because of the fact that it would have only been about $500 with shipping included. The potential for the motor is good, but theres a 250 pound difference and just some other stuff that makes it debatable. I'll probably end up doing the SR20 stuff, trying to be like everyone else J/K.

Yeah, I replied in the secret forum. ;) I know what an RB20 is, I just personally don't see a point in doing that RB swap especially for drag. A 150hp 6cyl. (if you were talking about the DE and not the DET. DET would be around 200hp) :dunno: Cheap maybe, but not really popular for some reasons especially because of the significant weight difference. The only reasons TO get it that I can think of would be to be different or because of the iron block. But since I know you're doing drag now, why not go with the RB26DETT? Too expensive?

Also, I apologize for using the wrong diction in my question. :)

Also, you "flagged races"?

It was the RB20DET, I was only considering it because of the real low cost - plus, if something happened to it or the car with it, I could sell it to some idiot up here for at least 5 grand and make some major money. If some people up here hear the word Skyline and have the offer to buy something related to it, they'll jump at the chance and will pay whatever. The weight difference of I think 250 is what threw me. Granted I could spend the money difference to build it up and compensate for that, I don't feel like taking the time to do that - I'm impatient to get this motorswap done already. So, I figured I would go with the one that is much more reliable and people have more experience with.

Up here in Tallahassee, if you're the person that acts as the "tree" (lights), they consider you a flagger (even though you don't use a flag, just your hand). Since we don't have a track up here, there is a lot of that going on unfortunately. With everyone saying that, they just got me saying it now too - peer pressure I suppose...
