Well, I didn't win. Although I did put on quite a show for everyone. My first pass I had no idea what the MT ET street were going to do and not too many other heavy hitters were hooking. I left the line and the car started to come up and then it came up some more and before I knew it the car was on the bumper. As the car came back down and sparks flew, I got back in the throttle and the car came back up. After it bounced around a little I was crossed up and heading into the 330 timing box. I drove around the box in the other lane and just drove the car back to the staging lanes.

I didn't think I hurt anything because I was able to drive it back without any problems. I later was able to walk the track and I can say I have left my mark on Memphis. Right about the 250 foot mark you can see where my oil pan hit the groud and dug two lines in the track. My second pass was a 9.25 @146 leaving the line with a light foot. I didn't want that to happen again. When I got back in the staging lanes I was told I was dipping oil and was not allowed to continue. I didn't see any leaks, but my pan is about .25" shorter.

The fastest average was 9.4 something, so that means if I had run like I did at bradenton I would have won the whole thing. Not one car in the 8's and not too many in the 9's. All in all it was a blast. I will post some random pictures below.

1968 Nova with 9500 original miles. That is the factory baby blue paint. I don't think it came with the 632 big chief chevy motor though.

I would love to see this group of cars roll down Gandy some time.

That hemi sits kinda close to the brake booster on that car don't it? I know the car prolly isn't driven much but damn what a way to heat up your brake fluid.....

The Hemi looked to be a Max Wedge motor with the offset carbs. ?

That's Leo Santucci's car I believe. It runs in the 10's or 9's.

Sorry to hear about your luck, but hopefully your kickass wheelie will make it into hot rod!
