Lisa Kubo broke into the 7's first in her Saturn ION with a run of 7.963/180.83

then later on in qualifying Nelson Hoyos ran a 7.997/185.56 down at the 2nd Annual BFGoodrich NHRA Sport Compact Nationals.

Great weekend for some record setting runs in the Pro FWD class.

Well she's got 2 wins already this season. Her and Hoyos were facing each other at the end and she beat him out.

From NHRA Site......

(W) Lisa Kubo (APC Saturn Ion '03 Ecotec) 0.600 8.003 186.87
(L) Nelson Hoyos ('04Cavalier) 0.512 8.209 180.83

This is the fifth final in a row for these two drivers. Both have won twice, so major bragging rights are at stake. Both have run in the seven second zone, neither has backed up their times for the record.
YES! Lisa trailed Hoyos till past the halfway point, but had the power to drive around him at the top end of the track. Lisa backed up her 7.963 for a new national record, and the points that go with it. Congrats to the whole APC Saturn Ion team!
