My self and (VQ35DE) went to 1320 fri and there were two turbo supras there...so I thought no way they would run. We are sitting there and up next a red supra lined up. I thought "he must be confused, supras don't go from a dig. They ALL have 700+hp and dont drag race." So the light drops and he gets rape out of the hole and all the way down the track by some honda. He ran a mid 14sec somthing . So the next supra lines up, it is a silver on with a big-ass front body kit thing and this supra was lowered so much that it rode like the kids hondas do when they cut the springs. it ran 14s. . (VQ35DE) and I tried to figure out what was wrong. Maybe they had the boost turned down all the way so they were not making 800hp, that way they could not get kicked out for running too fast:lol: So they both ran again...same thing, 14s. After that we left seeing the fastest car run a real real high 12s.

That's pretty sad. Even more so that the fastest car was barely in the 12s. :nono:

You cant hook up at that track at 1320. I spun 10inch slicks the hole way down the track, and my nitrous shut off about half way down the track. I ran a sorry ass 13.3 I would never run any of my cars at 1320 again.

Damn fwd

My friend with his 02 ws6 pulled his left front wheel off the ground and ran 11.7@116 ... so if you have the right tires and rwd, it's not impossible to hook up @ 1320.

The last time I ran 1320 (02') i had my v6 s-10 with no power adders and ran 14.60s all night. A 195hp(stock) pickum-up truck:lol: compared to a 320hp(stock)supra.

Last time out I hadn't been down the track in over a year and a half. I need more Rpm's to make a smoother transition from 1st to second with this turbo I got on there,it's bouncing of the rev limiter. I taking care of that as we speak. My 60' times need to be better but last time out I ended up with a best of 1.8 sec 60' on my last run. Thought I would call it a day after nine passes and excessive heat.

But to answer your question I ended up running 11.8-11.9's @125-126 mph. The last run were I got the 1.8 60' The car was either pullin time or clutch starting to slip. It was around 12 pm thats part of the reason I called it quit's. I plan on going back after getting the rev thing worked out.

Oh yeah this was done at around 17-18 psi of boost on 93 octane. I haven't done any race gas cause it would be useless right now I still have room to improve on.;)

I got a long way to go.;)

Those other Supra owners need to work on their cars and maybe driving for sure. I wasn't trying to bash or brush anyone off. We all share similar intrest. I like to see and hear about anything that's fast.:)

i think i remember them saying they were doing like 114 and around there. Those two anyway that were both in the 14s. They definitely do need to get to work on the cars and the driving though. Once I get a clutch it will be my turn to make some passes at the track.

Hey twisted, the trap speeds were only 103 & 105 for the 14 sec runs, and you said that they need work, on their engine and driving, so what kind of trap speed and times do you run???????? Also did you make it out to 1320 that night?

Twisted

alright I couldnt remember if they had said 104 or 114, I figured it was 114 since thats even pretty low and 104 is slower then the trap speed of a stock car. I guess they must be having some bigger issues then i figured.

As far as my car goes, like I said I havent made a pass yet since I still need a clutch but I figure once I get out there on pump gas it should trap 117 to 119ish and similar or a little higher on race gas

Hey twisted you said that you have not made a pass down the track yet. Be careful about speculating times and speeds, trust me, you never know what problems you might have when you go to the track yourself, and then you may end up on a post like this, and someone saying your car is slow. I guess that people forget, that something always happens, sometimes good, sometimes bad, just be prepared for the worst. Best of luck whenever you make your first pass, but you heard it here first.... it is not as easy as it looks!!!

reallllly ... I find that hard to believe. Don't supras come with 300hp and weigh about 3700lbs?

Twisted

They come with 320 from the factory supposedly even though thats a lil under rated since alot of stock cars put down between 290 and 310rwhp. Stock trap ranges generally from about 105 to 109ish. Thats why its a little suprising that they were only doing 104 seeing as even a poorly running bpu car can normally get around 114 or so.

LEADFOOT: I didnt speculate on any times since I'm sure I wont do that well on the first several passes and it will probably take a few trips to get better with it. I've made many passes down the track just not in this particular car so I know that its not so easy. I just said that my trap speed should be within that certain range since my car runs strong. If something happens with the motor or whatever then I would expect for it to be lower. Anyway its all in good fun and i cant wait to get a clutch and break it in so I can make some runs again.
