I am new to this forum, but old to the scene. I have an 87 Grand National, 67 not 68 Red Fiebird, a 67 Camaro (for those of you who remember way back in the day), and now an 86 T-type and a 98 red Chevy p/u 4x4, all of which you guys have all seen. Just letting you all know I am here now, and will be watching for call-outs. Currently you have the truck and t-type to pick from, and the Firebird will be tearing up the streets again by next weekend. So drop me a line and tell me when and where.

Say what you want, but I don't race from a roll. Half the skill of building a car is giving it a killer hole shot. I'm talking about the kind of hole shot that gets you a 1.37 60ft at the track (guess which car that is). I'm geared for the quarter mile, not top speed on the highway. If you want to race from a roll, talk to OneSweetZO6. He's got that down pat. And as for how fast the GN runs, it was in the 10's when I blew up the motor. Don't worry, I've got another one almost finished. That is too nice of a car to let collect dust ;)

Normally, I wouldn't even dignify some little sh*t-talker like you with a response, but I will make an exception in your case. First of all, I have too many cars because I can afford them. I'm sorry if your paycheck from McDonalds can't support your racing habit, but I own not one but TWO certified auto repair shops, so I don't have that problem. And as far as getting your car to go fast, I have done that three times over, and not without working hard. When I say a car runs 10's, I'm not talking about the 1/8th mile at Lakeland that you're used to. I would ask you to meet me at Bradenton, but your little rotary piece of crap won't make it all the way down the quarter mile without blowing up. So if you want it, come get it. Anytime, anywhere, anyplace. But you better have some benjamins in your hand to make it worth while, because I'm not gonna get a thrill out of beating a 15 second rotary bomb. If you are out on the prowl looking for races, you just walked into the wrong animal's territory, and I suggest you turn and run while you still have a tail to tuck between your legs. So c'mon... put up or shut up... and we'll find out who's the real loser at the finish line.

If you want something around the 12 second area, you can have the t-type regal. And when you guys talk about roll racing, what mph are we talking about starting from. I can't do some 50mph thing. That's not fair to me. But if you wanted to do like 20-25 mph, I could probably handle that. It would help me hook better too. Or if you wanted to go from a dig, I would be glad to give you a move or a car length or something. If you got the move, you would already be done with any traction issues by the time I got going, then you would already be moving while I was dealing with my own traction problems. And if I let my girlfriend drive, that's automatically giving you and extra 3 tenths or so ;)

Please forgive me BigDog, but I'm not gonna put out my times for everyone on earth to see. I often end up in big money races, and it's not fair to me if the other guy already knows what I am gonna run.
I've been doing a lot of thinking about this, and I am gonna have to do a little work to the Firebird before I can run from a roll with it. I'm gonna change my gear set up. So give me a week or so on that. If everyone wants to run from a roll, I guess that's what I gotta do. I've been wanting to try it anyway, so at least now I got an excuse. I'll let everyone know when I'm done.

They did ... went from 1.905 to 1.85 60's a while back .. my car just didn't have the power to pass the 60' marks any faster. Should run quite a bit better with e7s and fresh springs/valve job etc with the cam. Hoping to run 8.5-8.6 .. that is respectable enough for now until I get out of college.

Btw, one of the right control arms are making a poping sound when making right hand turns.

make sure your bolts are tight and the bushings are greased real good, the squeaks and pops are just part of the ride compromise from switching to aftermarket control arms

Yea, especially since we were talking about rear control upper/lower control arms.

Btw, they settled in .. I think they got out of where they should be when I had the car jacked up and put the other wheels on.
