I've decided to change my mind on getting kicker L7s and want to focus on adire. The selections are:
1 12" Brahma - $380
1 or 2 12" Shivas - $125 each
1 or 2 15" Tempest - $150 each
1 18" Maelstrom - $300
Whatever subs will be going into a sealed box.
I listen to rap, raggae, techno, and some rock occasionally. I'm looking for a combination of SPL and SQ which all of the adire line seems good for. Later on down the line these will be paired up with a set of adire koda components. I don't plan on doing any sound competitions so i'm not shooting for a competition setup.
The brahmas are probably the best sub but for $380 I want to know if it would be better to get a pair of subs or just 1 of a diffrent kind and spend money on the rest of the system.
in all honesty.. i think all of those subs are awesome... what kind of power are you using or no amp yet?

i havent decided on an amp yet i was waiting to pick out ones suited for whatever sub(s) i get. i'm thinking of crossing the maelstrom off the list. if the 2 shivas or 2 tempests can perform better than the brahma ill get one of those two if not then brahma time! any clue of if the 2 shivas/tempests will be better than the brahma?
if i got the brahma i was thinking of getting a Directed DEI 1100D or something close to that.

I personally would do 2 tempests if space were not an issue. But like Jesse said they're all awesome!
BTW- is your s/n referencing the OG alumapro alchemy?

I forgot about space. I don't want the entire trunk to be a sub box. I haven't measured the trunk yet but will get around to that tomorrow to help my decisions more. I don't mind alot of space being taken up but I'd like some room to squeeze a few bags of groceries and crap so I don't have to overload the backseat.
And about the s/n I had to google up alumapro lol. I made it for a couple of reasons. I think that Alchemist the producer is good and the old alchemist people were fascinating. The main reason however was because it meant a person who transformed something common into something precious which is what I feel i'm doing with my car.

What kind of car would the sub(s) being going in?
That's a very cool s/n! Sorry about that, I have a very one-track audio geek mind, lol.

I've heard Adire subs require massive amounts of air space (4+ sq. ft.). I think which sub(s) you choose really depends on how much space you can give up.

The subs would be going into my Dodge Shadow beater right now and then transferred into most likely a 240sx. I haven't seen much about the air space of the subs I can only find info on the brahma. 1.5 inch is what subzero makes their boxes and adire says that they are the best boxes for brahmas. I wish i could find info on the other subs. Thanks for all your help guys.
