so with 2 12" IDQ's, my roof flexes like a tard named jimmy on roids...
but up to a certain point the sound in my truck is unbefuckingleivable... i spontaneously orgasmed once on the ride to gainesville... and then again driving around town... needs some dynamat (read: a lot) in the general roof area but other than that it's fucking sweet. big ups to tropical audio for once again hooking me up with a sweet deal on some snazzy dls gear :)

What makes you so sure dynamat is gonna keep your roof from flexing?

My friends truck does the same thing. I was wodering how we might fix it. The only way we stopped it was having someone hold the roof through the part of the song. Post your results.
have pictures of the new setup?

no pics yet... it's nothing special... yet... only plans i had were to dynamat the roof (not sure what else i could do :dunno: ) but if somebody has a better idea feel free to share, as this is a problem i've never had before (too much bass for my car that is)

Take some diamond plate and bolt it on top of the roof, that should help it out.. :-)

Does it rattle when it flexes? Mine flexes like a bitch but doesnt make any sounds. All my rattles are coming from the hatch.

it makes an awful noise when it flexes... the roof itself is rattling... it's bad...

I'd try to find what's rattling (ie, the headliner against the sheet metal) and somehow eleminate that. But dynamat on the roof isn't going to do a thing with the flexing. You'd need to somehow brace it with supports for any chance of eliminating flex.

drill some ports in teh roof...DUH!
i dont understand, how does the roof flex? like bending?
yeah roof flexing is common, especially in trucks/suvs
find whats rattling on the roof, maybe weld on a new support or 2..

So those IDQ v2's are good, eh? I changed my mind on the planned location of the sub and I'm looking at a single 12 now instead of a single ten. Hopefully I'll be getting another job in just about 4 weeks, higher-paying than my last, and the stereo setup is right after suspension.
