I have the Mbquart QM 215.61 components powered by an Autotek amp. When i turn the music loud they seem to play fine for a little and then the sound gets lower. I've heard that it's a normal thing with components, is that true and is there is any way to get rid of this?

sounds like you're overheating somewhere along the way...

Thats weird because the amp never overheats it is pretty cool, the only thing that i can think of is the crossover. could it possibly be the problem??

ok, i pulled everything out and the tweeters and crossover were just fine, but it seems that some water have have been to the midranges iguess because they have a lot of rust, but does that affect the tweeters too??

I wouldn't think so. Sounds like you got a real pickle there.

i think my jl's wouldnt work if the tweeter and mid werent both hooked up... so it may make a differance, i dont know how the quarts work

Sounds like we have the same problem. I turned the gains down and I think it may have all but gone away. Now I need another amp since this one is not loud enough for me. I have a thread in this section too about it.

hmmmm... ok any suggestions for a good amp? I have the quarts components in front and Polk Momo series 6x9's.

Speakers are like a car. The cooler they are the more powerful they performe. You are overheating the voicecoil inside the speaker. You either need a cleaner amp or turn down the gain.
