What car is this again? Omni GLH?
I can't remember, but if so...
Once upon a time, the Dodge Omni line of vehicles had a nice little voltage regulator mounted somewhere on the firewall that was fairly easy and inexpensive to replace. This apparently all changed with fuel injection in 1990, when the voltage regulator was moved into the onboard computer. Effectively, what would otherwise be a $30 part becomes a $300 part.

YMMV
I have a Shelby Charger GLH-S, and I don't have that box, I looked. Do you think it may be in the alt?

Levi, the power module(the black computer next to the battery)
it controls the charging system.
Damn it that thing, that air flows through is shot?
How can I test it Mike? I tested the car on the alt test and shows not enouigh voltage, remove the alt and tests good @ the shop..WTF power module again.

Power Module or fusible links are melted, bad.
Would that make all my guages dead? the tach is dead also, this all happened @ the same time, when I noticed the car misfiring and voltage was reading low, then bam, all dead. but car ran kinda... Do you have a module that works FS, and if not will any turbo module work ? give me all the details brother teach me..

Levi-
To test the alternator and narrow down the problem, apply +12V to the field terminals (the two small wires going to the alternator). If the alternator output voltage jumps way up when you do that, then the alternator is good and the voltage regulator/field wiring/power module is bad.
so that enitre box thing on the side needs to be replaced. Just to make sure it the box that air should be draswn through with stock air intake setup?
How much do those go for?
Can I use anyone, or does it have to be for a Shelby and Turbo?
I found one on a 84 charger carb, does carb matter, for what this one part does?
Thank you for the help\ Larry and Mike. Long live the Shgelby Dodges guys~!!!!!
Does Jefff still have his CSX? and that 4 door sleeper.

Levi-
Did you test the alternator by putting 12V at the field terminals?
Also....A power module can be had at Cophers U Pull It for $35. I bought one there awhile back.
hey guys,
can the box be opened up? If it can, maybe I can fix it for ya, as long as youre not in a rush for it.

Yes it can be opened up quite easily. But, finding the problem would require very specific knowledge of the circuitry.

K,
Levi if you want to leave it in my hands, I can give it a shot....
I am giong to replace it, but I still am not sure if any module will work, or does it have to come out of a Turbo car?
Just answer this one and I will be quiet.
I really need to know if they are specific, so I can go and pull one for this weekend.

I believe the 85-87 power modules are the same. And, they are turbo specific (i.e. N/A wont work).
