Anyone want to explain that MR2? Did he take that Sport Compact Car article on weight reduction too much to heart? :dunno: :lol:

Jim's spyder was a salvage that had been stripped. it's slowly being pieced back together to eventually run SM2.

No, it was not his car. It was a car that was a theft recovery that was totaled by an insurance company.

SM2 = Street Modified 2 (two seats)
He's planning on putting a 2nd gen MR2 Turbo engine in it.

I was actually hoping to talk to owner of the Spyder when I found out it's a theft recovered vehicle. How does one go about purchasing theft recovered vehicles assuming you're not a licensed dealer?

this particular one was on EBay, and owned by a dealer who autocrosses heavily up in the Jax area.
