I wanted to take a spin with someone that had these installed before I dump cash. Anyone know of anyone that has these installed on a '04 STi?

I could be wrong but no one in the area seems to have these springs...and in my opinion, for good reason...correct me if I'm wrong but they're way over-rated and over priced for what they are. I personally stick to Eibach. Had them on 5 cars now.
And don't you have "STi springs" on your STi??

These aren't the same springs that come on the '04 USDM STi. The OEM springs on the USDM STi are designed with the US market in mind and make sarifices in regards to performance. The reviews don't seem to indicate at all these are over-rated while I would agree that they are a bit overpriced. This seems to be the must-do basic suspension upgrade from every review I have read.

I guess the softness can be relative to the type of ride you want. Eibach has never been squishy, like a Neuspeed or Suspension Techniques spring. On a daily driver car I never imagined a Eibach being too soft. Now, if you like the ride of something like a JIC coilover, then yes Eibach is soft in comparison. But that's a completely different setup. And they're only a few bucks more then a similar H&R spring.

Dirtman, AEA-1919 and some others here have been on some twisty rides in my car, I doubt anyone will call it too soft.

Luke, reviews compared to what? Stock? go for a ride in my car....More specifically, what type of ride are you looking for out of your car???

neuspeed springs are made by eibach, I just think its too soft in comparison to other springs in their class, had a set on my audi took em off because they were destroying my bumpstops and put a set of APR's on and even though they were the same spring rates the ride was much better and it was alot cheaper. just my opinion.

The reviews I've read are compared to and otherwise STi stock. The reviews indicate that the ride ends up less harsh and handing improves dramaticly along with a slight lowering of the ride height. If I'm not mistaken the springs are actually Spec-C spring and the USDM STi struts are suppose to be same as the Spec-C.

I appreciate the offer but I have some experience with several US WRX suspension setups including stock struts with Eibach springs. :)

You mean Tein RAs bro. :D The last thing you want to do is put Tein springs on a car! :o From what I've heard, they sag like a sumbitch.

Here is some data on the spring rates:

2004 USDM STi 188 173
2004 STi "Pink" 257 217

I don't think these are designed around the stock WRX suspension but just for kicks:

Tein Soft 67.2-179.18 61.59-179.18
Tein Medium 67.2-235.18 61.59-218.38
Tein Hard 307.98 279.98
Eibach 171 91-188
Prodrive P1 215 195

Either way, I'd rather spend a little more with the STi pinks than experiment with something that may or not work well. ;)

The next springs on my car are either Prodrive (made by Eibach spring rates by Prodrive) or Eibach Wagon Springs.

I cant recommend Teins (s-techs), had them on the 2.5 rs with Version 5 struts and they sagged terribly in a year...looked badass though! ride was worse than coilovers for daily driving.

I think the Koni inserts help firm up plas' car. It was very stiff. I've been reading up on the subject as well. I'm saving my pennies for v8 spec-c take offs. Basically US sti struts with the pinks that Luke mentioned. That'd be my sporty daily driver setup.

Yes Tein coilovers. I've been around, not doing much though. The car's been down for so long that I haven't been to any meets or anything, but hopefully it will be done soon and faster than ever :D . Give me a call sometime.
