Just wondering,,, Are there any events where it is Rice versus Muscle? Track events.... I remember a few times I went out to Gandy, the muscle cars would park on one side and the Imports on the other. When traffic died down, a ricer would pull out and wait for a muscle car to challenge him.. Then they would run. Are there any track events that are set up this way (legally)

I don't see the point. A race is a race. There's are many more fast domestics than fast imports, anyway. It would be a small group of imports if you were to limit it to 12.99 and lower. I guess you could set the limit at 13.99 or something to let the bolt-on lt1's, Mustangs, stock ls1's and most of the imports in.

You are right but we are all now dumber for just now spending the time to read that post. That is 15 seconds of my life I will never get back. LOL
A showdown between imports and domestics? God help them, it'd turn into a fucking brawl. Yeah, like stated above, the smaller, flashier imports usually park away from the large, loud hulking v8s, or simply vacate the area when met with double the cynlinders. (On a sidenote, I usually sneak my V6 in between a few F-Bodies in hopes that someone will think its got a 5.7). I just don't like the cars, personally, but some peopel have it out for the peopel that drive imports. Then give them a reason to go against eachother, and I'd say trouble is bound to happen.

There's two basic reasons for that .
1.) Ricers read a lot of articles and watch a lot of movies and then they talk a lot of crap about when there set up is done how they will walk on all V8's.
2.) Ricers drive around trying to prove stuff to domestics. They have to rev up on a domestic at every light they come to. And then they make up outragoues stories about V8's they beat.

Yep there is something already in the works right along these lines. :smirk:

First of all there is a difference between driving a fast import and being a ricer. BTW If you want to see the import vs domestic brawl you can just go to the track. Most import drivers who have fast cars would be glad to line up with a big bad domestic. Some win and some lose. Doesn't really matter what you drive as long as your going fast. BTW ZAC why is it that in most of your posts you are looking for an import to race? Just curious. Please reply.

I was going to say the samething about rice and imports, glad someone else said it.
Fast is fast in my book, while I prefer Fords I can appreciate anything that is fast. Heck, look at Jerry's Mirage ! Who would ever think from the outside that thing is as fast as it is. And I am certain he can clean house on 90% of TR, domestic or not.

Billy I'm always glad to line up with you at the track. I'd rather race a fast car that poses a challenge than any car that doesn't.

There are a few really fast imports , it's just the majority are not. Most imports when lightly modded may hang with the stock Domestics and beat a few but it usally modded vs modded and gets ugly! Not to say imports are all slow do not read into this!

I ran a Camaro at bradenton that said Import Killer on it......well......my car now says Domestic Killer  The car had some nice mods, I don't know if it was lack of traction for him or what (I spun 1st & 2nd) But I don't think his buddies will let him live it down.
He was running 13's all night.

i haven't had any ricers try to pick on me yet. but i did have 3 95-98 mustangs try. i can't believe how bad i beat them with an old stock 360 motor with unknown miles on it and a one legged 3.15 rearend. but i do know the one mustang would of killed me at the track. he was smoking his tires bad as we walked away from him twice. raced him twice
wait make that 4 mustangs. the 4th was a 67gt that was fast as hell. needless to say i didn't even try to keep up with him when he left me while we were doing 60 like i was standing still.
my car is very slow. i pulled a 10.03 in the 1/8. i should have the rearend installed in a few weeks. so i'll be at sunshine testing it out. should drop my time a little but still to slow to race anyone. dumb motor only came with 220hp stock :( and motor is still stock.
needless to say that motor is getting pulled and a 500+hp motor and ford 9 inch is going in. hope to get it going by may.
so if anyone want's an easy kill line up with me:) before may

if u ever to gandy you will see to big groups and a 3rd small group ,the 2 big groups r ricers and the v8s ,the third small groups is usally next to the V8s talken to them or just talken to each others those 5 to 10 people r the fast imports ..fast imports r few and far between, and they never have wing most people would most likey think they where stock cars

stock is sleeper....stock with faded paint, busted fender and 1/4 panel, and whining noise from the engine bay = scary sleeper

I have respect for fast cars but even more respect for those who dont bullshit and or make excuses. When an I beats a D its always the D saying "I had no traction" "That car weighs nothing" "He's got turbo and Nawz" etc...and visa versa its the I saying "I had no traction" "He's got twice to Hp, Displacement, and Motor" "Its soo easy for V8's to make power, we have to work for ours" etc...I really hate ppl who bs soo much. You got no traction...boo hoo get slicks....you have to work for power then work. Dont whine tho. Thats what I think at least.

well with rearwheel drive cars all the weight is in the front and you have to hook to shift the weight if your car is set up to shift it. with front wheel drive cars the weight is helping you hook. you have to make a lot of hp to make up for 400 or more lbs. my car weighs 3500-3600 lbs with me in it :( my friend has 1000hp and gets left at the light all the time because he can't hook. he has to play catch up but after he hooks he's gone. but he can't hook until 3rd gear on the street.
i'm afraid i'm going to have problem too hooking up with 500+hp {all motor no power adders] {motor not installed yet} with the tires i got to pick from for the street. i shouldn't have a problem at the track with slicks, but with any other tire or on the street i know i will. i have beat a few car's that are faster than mine because they couldn't hook up and i did.
so maybe they where BSing or maybe not. one guy i beat told me he couldn't hook up. so we ran again and i could hear his wheels spinning so he was telling the truth. he would of killed me at the track with slicks.
power is not that easy unless you just add a power adder and then you still have to make up the the weight of the v8 cars and traction problems. but i would think the problems for 4 bangers comes in where a cars is close to maxed out with power adders off the showroom floor. so there in the same boat as me. a complete build. i'm doing a rearend, trans, traction mods and motor to make my car some what fast.

Did you just say that high-hp FWD cars hook better than RWD cars? I'm going to have to raise the BS flag on that one. :)
Also, usually the factory power adder cars are the easiest to make power with. Usually, if a four cylinder comes from the factory with a turbo, you can count on being able to double the rated HP... and put that to the wheels. If you get one of the exceptional factory turbo fours, you can even triple it.

well import vs domestic has turned into civic vs. mustang. all inporters dont bitch about fwd because most of the fast imports at the track are rwd or awd. supras, rx7's. and then you have the awd dsm's and wrx's. the problem is that most of the people that start shit with domestic owners are the 15 second ricers with big mouths. and the people that talk shit about imports are the stock gt owners with exhaust and gears who think they own a race car because their car is loud. ive never really witnessed any fast car owners being dicks to other fast car owners. fast being low 12's and below. its like a different atmosphere with these guys. they have respect for their rides and give respect to others. the ricers and mullets that dont get any respect are the ones starting import vs. domestic feuds. most of the time anyways. i own a talon which commonly is on the import side(even though its made in america) but i like cars of all types, ford, hondas, toyota, etc... as long as they are fast that is
